Surakarta, November 26, 2025 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) brought its flagship educational initiative, BCA Berbagi Ilmu (BBI), to Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) students on Wednesday (26/11). Held at the UMS Edutorium, this edition of BBI featured a public lecture titled “Sharpening Your Edge: Skills and Attitude for the Next Chapter” delivered by BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono.
The session gathered 1.258 students and was attended by UMS Vice Rector I, Prof. Ihwan Susila, Ph.D, along with the BCA management team. During his presentation, BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono said, “As the world moves quickly, we need to keep an open mind by continuously expanding our knowledge. Curiosity should not fade, once you leave university. In the workplace, a willingness to learn becomes the foundation for growth. While technical skills matter, attitude and mindset are equally essential.”
Widodo also emphasized that students need to prepare mentally before stepping into the professional world. The pace and pressure of work environments, he said, often surpass what students experience on campus. Beyond adaptability, emotional self-regulation is crucial for young graduates. “Many fresh graduates are surprised by how fast the workplace moves. Academic capability is important, but resilience and emotional maturity are just as vital. When you can manage your emotions well, you are better equipped to navigate demanding situations,” he added.
UMS Vice Rector I, Prof. Ihwan Susila, Ph.D, expressed appreciation for the presence of BBI on his campus. “We truly appreciate BCA’s engagement with UMS students. This public lecture provides valuable insights into the realities of today’s workforce and reinforces the need to develop professional character early on. We hope this collaboration continues and helps shape competitive, future-ready young talent.”
The UMS event marks the ninth BBI session held in 2025. Previously, BBI took place at Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, IPB University, Universitas Andalas, Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, and Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama NTB. With the latest session in UMS, BBI has reached a total of
6.375 participants this year.
BCA sees education plays a strategic role in empowering students beyond academic achievement. Through BBI, BCA aims to support the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045 by equipping the young generation with relevant soft skills. The initiative reflects BCA’s commitment to strengthening human capital by collaborating with educational institutions across the country.
In addition to BBI, Bakti BCA also launched the Genera-Z Berbakti program this year, inviting students to participate directly in community service through funding support, mentoring, and assistance in academic publication.
Under Bakti BCA, BCA consistently advances a wide range of socially impactful sustainability initiatives. These efforts stem from a belief that empowered individuals can uplift their communities and contribute to a healthier ecosystem, creating a lasting cycle of positive impact. Bakti BCA also supports programs across multiple areas, including education (Bakti Pendidikan), healthcare (Bakti Kesehatan), cultural preservation (Bakti Budaya), community empowerment (Desa Bakti BCA), and environmental conservation (Bakti Lingkungan).
