Jakarta, 27 August 2025 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), through its Bakti BCA initiative, once again hosted the 2025 Coordination Meeting for Bakti BCA Assisted MSMEs and Villages, reaffirming the company’s commitment to engaging and empowering communities to drive local economic growth. The event, held on 26–27 August 2025 in Jakarta, was attended by around 150 participants. This annual event serves as a platform to improve competencies, strengthen coordination between BCA, MSMEs, and Bakti BCA Villages, and foster stronger relationships among Bakti BCA stakeholders.
The 2025 Coordination Meeting for Bakti BCA Assisted MSMEs and Villages was attended by Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, BCA President Director Hendra Lembong, BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono, Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy at the Ministry of Creative Economy Cecep Rukendi, Assistant Deputy for Tourism Product Development at the Ministry of Tourism Itok Parikesit, and BCA Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn. With the theme “Riding the Wave”, this year’s Coordination Meeting for Bakti BCA Assisted MSMEs and Villages centered on strengthening the potential of tourism villages, MSMEs, and local communities in navigating today’s dynamic business landscape.
BCA Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn stated, “This coordination meeting serves as a platform for BCA to gain deeper insights into the needs of MSMEs and assisted villages, while also supporting them in navigating today’s rapidly evolving business landscape. We believe that human capital plays a pivotal role in addressing these challenges. For this reason, strong synergy between the government and the private sector is essential to enable MSMEs and tourism villages to become more resilient, adaptive, and competitive. Through this collaborative forum, we aim to encourage the exchange of ideas and best practices that can drive sustainable growth for Bakti BCA Assisted MSMEs and Villages across Indonesia.”
Bakti BCA also held training sessions on brand strengthening, creative economy innovation, and financial management. The sessions featured speakers including Anomali Coffee Co-Founder Irvan Helmi, Duanyam Co-Founder Hanna Keraf, dentsu Indonesia Creative CEO Wisnu Satya Putra, and Trisakti University CECT Sustainability Executive Director Maria Ariesta Utha. Bakti BCA assisted MSMEs and Villages representatives also had the opportunity to share best practices in sustainable tourism, particularly regarding environmental sustainability. In addition, participants were invited to benchmark best-in-class tourism services through visits to Hotel Indonesia Kempinski and the Glodok Chinatown Tourism Village.
The Coordination Meeting for Bakti BCA Assisted MSMEs and Villages is part of BCA’s continuous initiatives under the Bakti BCA. BCA’s commitment is reflected in various programs, including human capital development, the Rumah Pangan Hidup (Sustainable Food House) initiative, market access expansion, coffee plantation revitalization, halal certification assistance for MSMEs, MSME Go Export training, and other capacity-building programs for MSMEs in Bakti BCA Villages.
Currently, BCA provides intensive assistance to 27 villages spread across Sumatra, Java, Bali, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku. Several Bakti BCA Villages have also received national and international recognition. Most recently, six assisted tourism villages earned prestigious awards at the ASEAN Tourism Awards 2025, namely Nagari Sijunjung Traditional Village, Terong Creative Tourism Village, Semen Tourism Village, Taro Tourism Village, Glodok Chinatown Tourism Village, and Bilebante Green Tourism Village. In addition, Taro Tourism Village and Bilebante Green Tourism Village were selected for the Best Tourism Villages Upgrade Program by UNWTO in 2023.
