Three Desa Bakti BCA Win the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism’s 2025 Wonderful Indonesia Award

Jakarta, 9 December 2025 - Three Bakti BCA assisted villages (Desa Bakti BCA) successfully brought home awards at the 2025 Wonderful Indonesia Award (WIA). Organized by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenpar RI), this event recognizes tourism managers and practitioners nationwide for their dedication and positive contributions to the advancement of Indonesian tourism. This milestone further underscores Bakti BCA’s commitment to empowering tourism villages and strengthening Indonesia’s sustainable tourism ecosystem.

At WIA 2025, three Bakti BCA assisted villages earned notable awards:

  1. Bilebante Green Tourism Village, West Nusa Tenggara won the Grand Winner in the Tourism Village category
  2. Prai Ijing Tebara Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), East Nusa Tenggara won the 2nd Place in the Tourism Awareness Group category
  3. Glodok Chinatown Heritage Village, Jakarta won the 3rd Runner-Up in the Culture-Based Tourism Village category

The awards were presented in person by the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia Widiyanti Putri Wardhana alongside her team, to representatives of the three Bakti BCA assisted villages on Friday (5/12) at the Sapta Pesona Building in Jakarta. The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa, Deputy for Resources and Institutional Affairs Hariyanto, Deputy for Marketing Ni Made Ayu Marthini, and BCA Corporate Social Responsibility Vice President Nona Faletta Aryuni Sumanang.

The Desa Bakti BCA program provides comprehensive support to 27 tourism villages across Indonesia, covering human resource development, enhancing tourism attractions, optimizing service management, providing financial literacy training, broadening market access, and empowering local MSMEs. Through these initiatives, Bakti BCA aims to create greater economic opportunities for local communities, elevate the appeal of each destination, and foster a sustainable tourism ecosystem.

BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono said, “BCA is honored and proud of the achievements of the three Bakti BCA assisted villages in the WIA 2025. This recognition highlights the tremendous potential of local tourism to grow into premier destinations that not only attract visitors but also deliver economic, cultural, and sustainable benefits to local communities. Collaboration is key to every success in tourism development, and through Bakti BCA, we have launched the Desa Bakti BCA program to foster innovation, strengthen community capacity, and create new opportunities for the advancement of tourism villages.”

During the same event, BCA also received an award from the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia as the Most Collaborative Tourism Village Partner. “This award reflects BCA’s commitment to seeing community-based tourism as a key driver of regional development. We believe that a strong national economy begins with empowered villages. Moving forward, BCA, through Bakti BCA, will continue to strengthen its support for tourism villages so they can become more innovative, self-reliant, and capable of delivering sustainable economic benefits to their communities,” concluded Antonius Widodo Mulyono.
