Jakarta, 13 July 2021 – In the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemics, five national banks were collaborating in initiating a care movement to support the government’s effort in accelerating National vaccination program to form herd immunity for the purpose of national economy recovery.
Supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Health and Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank Mandiri, Bank BRI, Bank BCA, and Bank CIMB Niaga were committed to organize national vaccination program called “Gerakan Peduli Insan Perbankan”, aiming for 144,473 participants.
Present in the virtual ceremony of “Gerakan Peduli Insan Perbankan” were the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Head Executive of Banking Supervision of OJK Heru Kristiyana, Managing Director of Bank Mandiri Darmawan Junaidi, Managing Director of BRI Sunarso, Managing Director of BNI Royke Tumilaar, President Director of BCA Jahja Setiaatmadja, Director of BCA Haryanto T. Budiman, President Director of CIMB Niaga Tigor M. Siahaan, and Director of Compliance, Corporate Affairs and Legal of CIMB Niaga Fransiska Oei, on Tuesday (13/07).
The first stage of vaccination aimed to reach 112,920 participants from general public, customer, employees, and family of the bank employees in 13 cities. The program will be conducted in DKI Jakarta, Padang, Surabaya, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Makassar, Palembang, Semarang, Medan, Balikpapan, Manado, Banjarmasin, and Pontianak. Meanwhile, the second stage of this vaccination aimed to reach 31,553 participants from general public, customer, employees, and family of the bank employees in 48 cities.
Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said, "The implementation of service in vaccination center is made possible through collaboration with private sector. We are pleased with the support from banking sector for employees, families, customers, and general public. Thank you for your extraordinary contribution and good intention, and I hope that this will continue until the end of the year."
At the same time, the Head Executive of Banking Supervision of OJK Heru Kristiyana added that this vaccination program is a manifestation of bank participation in the handling of COVID-19 pandemic. The five banks which organized the vaccination program today have a wide network, both in terms of physical infrastructure of branch office and total amount of customers, and it is hoped that they can accelerate the implementation of vaccination program. In the future, participation and synergy of banking and its associates need to be intensified in order to provide even more acceleration and wider coverage for the aforementioned vaccination program.
It is known that the financial industry is one of the essential industrial sectors that continues to operate during the pandemic, and it consistently implement strict health protocols in accordance with the procedure and provisions stipulated by the government and WHO. Therefore, it is necessary for banks to ensure that their employees have been vaccinated in order to provide optimum service to customers and public.

Implementation of Insan Perbankan National Vaccination – On Tuesday (13/07) a virtual opening ceremony for insan perbankan national vaccination program was held in five cities, namely DKI Jakarta, Palembang, Bandung, Balikpapan, and Makassar. The first stage of this program is aimed for participants from general public, customer, employees, and family of the bank employees. Financial industry is one of the essential industrial sectors that continues to operate during pandemics.
