Again, BCA Wins the Best Bank in Indonesia and Asia

Hong Kong, 27 Juni 2018 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has existed in Indonesian society and never stops offering the variety of technology innovations that enable customers to perform a practical, safe, and convenient banking transaction. BCA’s achievements as dominant player in the market and Indonesia’s leading bank of choice, has led the bank to win two awards at a time, namely the Best Bank in Indonesia dan Best Bank Asian for the third consecutive year at the FinanceAsia Country Awards for Achievement 2018 in Hong Kong, Wednesday (27/06).

Attending to receive the award was President Director of BCA Jahja Setiaatmadja revealed that the benefits of its sophisticated and innovative payment systems are the key to BCA’s success, resulting in a higher profitability and lower funding cost. “Currently, we are focusing on digital banking because we believe that, within five or ten years, the millennial generation will dominate the market,” said Jahja.

The Bank BCA has marked its victory for three consecutive years in FinanceAsia Country Awards for Achievement 2018 as the best bank in both Indonesia and Asia. Named the Best Asian Bank, BCA stood out from other best banking institutions from 17 other countries, presented the best performance on each indicator, including Return on Equity (ROE) and Earning per Share (EPS) which resulted in compound annual growth rate of 18% and 27% each.

Alongside its solid performance, the Bank BCA also emphasizes the importance of keeping up with current technological trends by embracing financial technology (fintech) to support its businesses. BCA founded Central Capital Ventura, a venture capital fund specifically set up to invest and collaborate with existing fintech companies that are expected to support the financial services ecosystem of BCA and its subsidiaries. “BCA realizes that almost all sustenance fulfillment has been touched by technology. Therefore, we are starting to intensify the expansion of the digital system, which we believe will greatly support our payment business,” added Jahja.

As a successful largest private bank in Indonesia, BCA has always been motivated to become the leading bank of choice. “One of the keys to its success is the low-cost funding base, supported by the solid increase in Current Account and Savings Account(CASA) so we can produce competitive products and be able to offer low-interest lending rates for a relatively long period of time,” said Jahja concluding his remarks.
