Purwakarta,12 May 2020 – As a part of national banking, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to demonstrate its commitment to continuously contribute to the alleviation and prevention of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Not too long ago, BCA distributed donation to several referral hospitals/health facilties, the government and various other independent institutions/organizations, with a total donation value of more than Rp13 billion. Now, as a form of empathy and solidarity especially to those who have been financially affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the employees of BCA and Bakti BCA initiated an internal fundraiser, collected from April-May, managed to raise a donation fund of Rp1 billion.
The donation was symbolically submitted by the Head of KCU BCA Purwakarta Susiana Arifah to the representative of the Purwarkarta community at BCA Purwakarta’s Main Branch Office (KCU), Tuesday (12/05). Also attending the event was Head of Branch Operations of KCU BCA Purwakarta Tine Agustien and the Head of Branch Business Development (KPBC) of KCU BCA Purwakarta Praptomo Dwi Putro.
“The assistance we distribute today is a testament to the empathy and solidarity of the employees of BCA and Bakti BCA to help people financially affected by Covid-19. Then, these staple food packages will be distributed to Head Office, all BCA Regional Offices, and KCU Aceh and KCU Jayapura. We are working to ensure targeted delivery of aid that is distributed evenly throughout the nation,” said Susiana.
The initiative raised Rp1 billion which will be converted into 10,000 staple food packages, containing basic foods such as rice, instant noodles, soy sauce, cooking oil, canned corned beef, canned sardines, and also personal hygiene essentials such as soap and cloth face masks.
These goodie bags will then be distributed in stages to 12 BCA Regional Offices all across Indonesia, including KCU Aceh and KCU Jayapura, taking into an account various aspects of health protocols established by the government and WHO.
“We hope that the #OneBCA assistance we distribute can help ease financial burden on the people affected by the pandemic. It also serves as a form of BCA’s commitment to fight against Covid-19 alongside the people. We hope that the ongoing action can help accelerate Indonesia’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic,” concluded Susiana.
