BCA Introduces Fostered Villages through the "Holiday From Home" Talk Show Program

Jakarta, 22 October 2020 - Approaching the end of the year, it is usually a good time to plan a vacation. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia and most countries in the world today requires us to minimize activities outside the home. Seeing this, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) innovates by inviting Indonesian customers and people on a virtual vacation to BCA fostered villages in various parts of Indonesia through the LDR “Holidays from Home” Instagram Live Talk Show program. This LDR talk show discussed BCA fostered villages located in Yogyakarta.

The inaugural episode of the LDR "Holiday from Home” Instagram Live Talk Show “presented Executive Vice President CSR BCA Inge Setiawati, Vice President CSR BCA Ira Bachtar, and Kadek Arini a Travel Blogger as speakers on Thursday (22/10). This event was broadcast live through @goodlifebca's Instagram account and SolusiBCA's Youtube. Furthermore, this program will be held every Thursday from 7 to 8 pm by presenting various speakers who will thoroughly explore the uniqueness and potential of various fostered tourist villages by BCA.

“Indonesia has natural and cultural diversity that makes each region have its own charm. The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment in Indonesia noted that as of December 2019, the number of islands as a result of Indonesia's validation and verification reached 17.491 islands. Through the LDR "Holidays from Home" Instagram Live Talk Show program, BCA wants to introduce the public to BCA fostered villages that should be an option to visit while on vacation," explained Inge.

This program will also discuss the guidance carried out by BCA CSR for the fostered villages, which focuses on developing human resources for village administrators, branding standardization or designing and implementing promotional activities to physical standardization, namely the effectiveness and efficiency of supporting public facilities.

BCA continues to support tourism development through various development, expansion, and training efforts for the village administrators. Currently, BCA has 12 fostered villages spread across Sumatra, Java and Bali. There are 3 fostered villages in Yogyakarta, namely Wirawisata Goa Pindul; Pentingsari Tourism Village; and Wukirsari Wayang Tourism Village. While the other 9 tourism villages are Kampung Batik Gemah Sumilir; Doesoen Kopi Sirap; Tamansari Tourism Village; Pucak Tinggan Tourism Village; Gunung Lumut Fostered Village; Peramun Hill Fostered Village; Aik Deer Berehun Tourism Fostered Village; Sijunjung Traditional Village; and Nagari Silokek.

When the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, the training of the fostered villages was more focused on the use of digital facilities and self-adjustment so that they were able to adapt. “BCA fostered villages are ready to welcome tourists in the upcoming new normal era. The LDR 'Holiday from Home' Live Instagram Talk Show program is expected to increase public interest in visiting. We also hope to be able to help the Indonesian economy through the tourism sector," concluded Inge.
