Bali, 22 May 2024 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) is committed to continue supporting the halal economy in Indonesia by reorganizing the Halal Certification Workshop for MSMEs in Kuta, Bali, on Tuesday (21/5). Participated by 100 MSMEs, this activity aims to support improving the quality of MSME products so that they have higher competitiveness in the future.

On this occasion, BCA also distributed people's business loans (KUR) worth Rp 101 million to coffee shop entrepreneurs. The KUR was symbolically handed over by Head of Business Development Region IV Soeherdiyanto Budi Krisnandono to debtor Lamriah Ester Febrianti.

EVP Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility BCA Hera F. Haryn stated, “Empowering MSMEs has always been BCA's main focus. We also realize that MSMEs play an important role in national economic growth. Through the 2024 Halal Certification Workshop program, BCA is committed to supporting the development of MSME businesses by providing access and understanding of halal certification in the self-declared category. We always hope that MSME players can take advantage of this opportunity to improve product quality and business scale.”

In the 2024 BCA's MSME Halal Certification Workshop, the company provides support in the form of halal certification fees to MSME actors. Participants of the BCA 2024 MSME Halal Certificate Workshop also have the opportunity to get several attractive offers, such as online account opening, online BCA Credit Card opening, activation of payment methods via QRIS, business financing facilities (KUR), and other consumptive products.

Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest muslim population in the world. This is why halal-certified products are in high demand among Indonesians. Based on a survey by the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, the average turnover of businesses increased by 8.5% after obtaining a halal certificate. In line with this, BCA is committed to continuing the MSME halal certification program.

Recently, BCA also held Halal Certification Workshop program in Makassar on Monday (13/5) and will continue throughout Indonesia, focusing on acquisition by issuing halal certificates to 2,000

Indonesian MSMEs this year. For information, BCA also conducted halal certification training in 2023 and assisted in issuing 1,000 halal certificates for MSMEs attended by mostly women spread across 10 cities/regencies in nine provinces throughout Indonesia. This effort placed BCA in second place nationally as the institution with the most halal certificate quotas in 2023.

BCA's support for MSMEs is also carried out in the financing sector, as reflected in BCA's MSME segment lending which grew by 13,5% YoY, reaching Rp110,4 trillion as of March 2024. BCA provides promo lending rates for commercial debtors and MSME engaged in Environmentally Sound Business Activities to continue encouraging lending to this sector.
