Upholding Inclusivity Principle “No One Left Behind”, HaloBCA Welcomes Top Graduates from the Ministry of Social Affairs’ Special School for Persons with Disabilities


Jakarta, 18 December 2023 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has been honored by the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs for its outstanding contribution to providing employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. This recognition, presented as a special acknowledgment, coincides with the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December 2023.

Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini handed over the award to BCA VP of Contact Center & Digital Services (HaloBCA Service 2) Angela Wanodya Sawangi. This acknowledgment underscores BCA's dedication to enhancing the well-being of persons with disabilities, aligning with Government Regulation No. 43 of 1998 on Efforts to Improve Welfare for Persons with Disabilities, as well as emphasizing the bank’s concern and solidarity in implementing the basic principle of inclusivity “No One Left Behind”.

BCA has partnered with Sentra Terpadu Inten Soeweno (STIS), a vocational school for persons with disabilities operating under the Directorate General of Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Affairs. This collaboration focuses on recruiting the top graduates specializing in contact center services. Notably, STIS offers vocational training in diverse majors such as sewing, electronics, graphic design, metal/welding work, and contact centers for persons with disabilities.

BCA EVP of Contact Center & Digital Services BCA Wani Sabu stated, “We are honored to partner with our esteemed colleagues from STIS. This recognition inspires us to uphold the company’s commitment to consistently contribute to community empowerment, including providing support for persons with disabilities.”

STIS graduates with disabilities have successfully completed a series of BCA employee entrance tests to secure positions as contact center and back-office service officers at Halo BCA. Currently, there are 50 individuals with disabilities employed at Halo BCA, with half of them being STIS graduates. Additionally, the six Halo BCA buildings in Jakarta and Semarang are designed to be highly disability-friendly, featuring accessible pathways, wide doors, and spacious special toilets to facilitate wheelchair users.

Through this award, the Ministry of Social Affairs appreciated Halo BCA Site BSD and Foresta for empowering persons with disabilities, by providing employment as Halo BCA contact center service officers.
