Jakarta, 5 August 2021 – COVID-19 Vaccination program in Indonesia, which started at the beginning of 2021, is continuously pushed by the government who aims to fully vaccinate all of Indonesians. In order to support such program, private sector actively provides public vaccination centers for the people. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), as one of the national bank, also actively joined in providing vaccination centers in multiple regions. This time, BCA’s vaccination centers are present in four areas in East Jakarta.
The presence of vaccination centers in East Jakarta is part of the BCA’s Corporate Social Responsibility program. Those vaccination centers were opened on Sunday, 01 August 2021 and they are is still operating today, on Thursday (05/08). This activity also part of the Gerakan Peduli Insan Perbankan movement in the National Vaccination Acceleration Program.
“The active role of private sector in supporting the current government program, namely vaccination, is necessary to expedite the herd immunity in Indonesia. BCA will continue to be active in providing vaccination center for public in many regions. In addition to vaccination center, BCA will also support a range of vaccination programs undertaken by various institutions. The presence of BCA’s vaccination centers in East Jakarta is a cooperation between BCA, Indonesian Financial Service Authority (OJK), Department of Health of DKI Jakarta Province, and the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta,” said Jahja Setiaatmadja, the President Director of BCA.
The East Jakarta vaccination center is organized on four locations, i.e. SDN 03 Pagi Cakung, SDN 05 Kalisari Pasar Rebo, Mall Graha Cijantung Pasar Rebo, and Gedung Wira Purusa LVRI Duren Sawit. These location are selected due to their ease of access which smoothen the vaccine distribution to public. In this program, 36,000 doses of Sinovac are prepared, which is equivalent to 18,000 vaccine recipients. Priority is given to the local residents. This program will be held until 16 August 2021. Anyone who are interested to be vaccinated in this program may register through JAKI app or by visiting the vaccination center.
BCA’s support in organizing the mass vaccination is also given through their support to other institutions to ensure the success of vaccination. On Thursday (05/08), BCA also actively involved in supporting vaccination programs for university students as the future generation of the nation. The support is shown through allocation of fund to organize a student vaccination center in Universitas Indonesia.
Meanwhile, to support the national vaccination program, BCA has already undertaken the Gotong Royong Vaccination program which was started on May 2021. Additionally, BCA also participated on the government’s vaccination program. By the beginning of August 2021, more than 90% of BCA’s employees has received one or two doses of vaccine. In total, BCA has distributed vaccine for more than 50,000 recipients, either for employees and their family members or for general public.
“It is our collective responsibility to push the solidarity act in expediting the recovery in Indonesia. Hopefully, the presence of BCA’s vaccination center in many regions will provide positive impact for local residents and help form the herd immunity,” said Inge Setiawati, the EVP of CSR of BCA.
