Jakarta, 24 May 2021 – The banking industry is the lifeblood of the Indonesian economic system. For this reason, to provide optimal services to customers during the pandemic and contribute to establish herd immunity, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) symbolically implement the Gotong Royong vaccination for BCA employees.
BCA will vaccinate all employees, especially the frontlines who directly interact with customers and are in the main work unit that ensure system operations and 24-hr services for customers. In addition to the Gotong Royong vaccination program in collaboration with PT Kimia Farma, some of BCA employees have received the first vaccine shot through the Government Vaccination Program with the support of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of SOEs, BI, the OJK, and local governments. BCA is committed to providing vaccines for the family of its employees according to a process determined by the government.
Attending the implementation of the first stage of the Gotong Royong vaccination was President Director of BCA Jahja Setiaatmadja, Director of BCA Haryanto T. Haryn, and GM Corporate Secretary of PT Kimia Farma Tbk Ganti Winarno P. at BCA Tower, Jakarta, Monday (24/5).
Jahja said that he supports the acceleration of the vaccination program for employees because the banking industry is an essential sector allowed to continue operations during the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), which has been in the risk zone in providing services to customers and the public. The vaccination is also part of BCA’s contribution in supporting the economic recovery program through herd immunity.
“We are grateful to be the first bank to implement the Gotong Royong vaccination for employees. This is part of the corporate responsibility to provide optimal services and ensure safety and security for BCA employees and their families, and the customers. Thank you to the Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Mr. Rosan Roeslani, Deputy Chairperson of KADIN Mrs. Shinta Kamdani, and all parties who have helped the implementation of this vaccination program,” said Jahja, on Monday (24/5).
As is known, during the pandemic, BCA has implemented strict health protocols in accordance with the procedures and regulations determined by the government and WHO. BCA also constantly encourages customers and the public to optimize the use of online banking services through #BankingFromHome to fulfil various banking needs during the pandemic.
Verdi Budidarmo added that after endorsing the manufacturing industry at the kickoff of the Gotong Royong vaccination on 18 May 2021, PT Kimia Farma Tbk is now supporting the banking industry, namely BCA.

According to him, Kimia Farma and BCA have collaborated on different matters, including the provision of ATM and EDC BCA at several Kimia Farma pharmacies to provide financial services for the public while acquiring health services.
Verdi affirms that Kimia Farma continues to support the government vaccination policy by providing health service facilities to companies that implement the Gotong Royong vaccination for employees and their families. “We continue to be committed to providing the best service for these companies while at the same time contribute to achieving herd immunity and protecting the public from Covid-19 to stay productive both socially and financially.”

About Kimia Farma
Kimia Farma was the first pharmaceutical industry company in Indonesia established by the Dutch Indies Government in 1817. The name of this company was originally NV Chemicalien Handle Rathkamp & Co.
Based on the policy of nationalization of ex Dutch companies at the beginning of the independence period; the Government of the Republic of Indonesia merged in 1958 a number of pharmaceutical companies into PNF Bhinneka Kimia Farma. In the Gotong Royong vaccine distribution and, the pharmaceutical issuer coded KAEF appointed its subsidiary PT Kimia Farma Diagnostika. Kimia Farma Diagnostika is a subsidiary of PT Kimia Farma Apotek.
The Gotong Royong vaccination is the implementation of vaccination for employees, families, and other individuals in the family, with those vaccines paid for by legal or business entities. Since mid-January 2021, the government has provided free vaccine shots to priority group such as health workers and senior citizens.
