Jakarta, 16 March 2021 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA)’s consistent support for the advancement of Indonesian teachers doesn’t end with the National Teacher Day 2020 program. Through the corporate social responsibility program, this time, the Bakti BCA organizes the “Brain-Based Teacher” webinar which is intended for Elementary, Junior and Senior High School teachers in East Indonesia.
The webinar is still part of the National Teacher Day 2020 program and was held online through a Zoom Meeting on Tuesday (16/03). Attending the webinar was EVP CSR of BCA Inge Setiawati, Director of Teachers and Education Personnel in Basic Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture, DR. Drs. Rachmadi Widdiharto, M. A. and TLI’s Brain Coach Leader Sutanto Widura. The program was followed by more than 4,000 participants from 33 cities in 12 provinces.
Inge Setiawati said, “The Covid-19 pandemic has brought many challenges to teachers, especially those in East Indonesia. Inspirational activities such as the webinar is a form of BCA initiative to encourage and appreciate all educators. We want to make teachers an agent of change who creates a positive impact on the education in Indonesia.”
The “Brain-Based Teacher” webinar educates teachers on a learning method that aims to understand brain-compatible learning and the management and efficiency of learning. This method is also an embodiment of PAIIKEM (Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, and Fun Learning). Furthermore, it also aims to invite teachers to implement Problem-Solving Learning in their teaching.
For your information, in December 2020, BCA held a webinar called “Advancing East Indonesian Teachers” in commemorating of the National Teacher’s Day 2020. The program was received with great enthusiasm in East Indonesia and was followed by more than 300 schools.
Inge asserts that BCA wants to ensure that teachers, especially in Eastern Indonesia, are not alone in carrying out the educational activities for Indonesia’s youth. Especially now that classes are still conducted online.
BCA’s support for Indonesian teachers is still part of the “Lift the Spirit, Realize Freedom to Learn” campaign initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. Today, the webinar also announced the winners of the writing competition held in December 2020.
