Jakarta, 13 January 2021 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has a vision to become the main pillar of economic growth in Indonesia. This dedication has finally led BCA to achieve PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) 3.2.1 certification for all BCA Data Centers and ISO 20000-1:2018 certification.
The handover of PCI DSS 3.2.1 certification was carried out by the President Director of PT TUV Rheinland Indonesia I Nyoman Susila and ISO 20000-1:2018 certification by the Managing Director of PT BSI Group Indonesia Erna Damayanti which was received virtually by the Vice President Director of BCA Armand Hartono accompanied by Executive Vice President IT BCA Jip Thomas Sutanto and Fransiscus Kaurrany on Wednesday (13/01).
Armand stated “BCA is proud to be one of the first private banks to receive the prestigious PCI DSS 3.2.1 certification for all entities that manage cardholder transactions and data, including the Data Center. The ISO 20000-1:2018 certification that we also received today is an achievement. We give our highest appreciation to the IT division which has proven its maximum performance in managing the IT System at BCA,"
PCI DSS 3.2.1 certification was pioneered and established by 5 international payment networks, namely American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, and Visa. To obtain PCI DSS certification, an external audit is required which is carried out on documents, technical and non-technical design standards on an end-to-end basis in the management and operational processes of the Data Center, such as: physical location of the data center; networks; device (server); and systems in all BCA Data Centers. In obtaining this certification, the BCA Data Center has gone through an audit process which was carried out on November 16-18, 2020.
Armand added, “In carrying out the banking transaction process, BCA always maintains the confidentiality of customer data and secures transactions in accordance with applicable regulations, especially the Data Center which acts as a data center and operationalizes all IT services. BCA has implemented One Time Password (OTP) and CVV (Card Verification Value) codes generated by the BCA system. The Company also continues to prioritize the security and convenience of customers in transactions by updating an adequate and up-to-date IT system.”
Meanwhile, ISO or International Organization for Standardization is an international organization that handles standardization around the world covering certain technicalities. This standardization will assist the public in obtaining information about the quality assurance provided by an organization. In ISO 20000-1:2018 the discussion focuses on the application of standards in terms of service management systems – IT. The standards set out in this assessment include planning, design, transition, delivery and service improvement at BCA. In obtaining this certification, BCA has gone through an audit process which was carried out on 26-27 October 2020.
These two certifications further complement BCA's international certification after previously obtaining ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2013.
