BCA Presents Inspirational Webinar Titled: "Women’s Role in Tourism Village Development"

Jakarta, 26 November 2020 – The COVID-19 pandemic has had its own impacts and challenges for a number of industrial sectors in Indonesia, including the tourism sector. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), which owns Bakti BCA fostered villages, is paying close attention to this to adapt to technological developments to continue developing tourism villages. On this occasion, as a form of development continuity of fostered villages by Bakti BCA, BCA presents a webinar with the theme “Women’s Role in Tourism Village Development”.

The webinar, which is part of BCA's CSR program, was opened by Executive Vice President of SK CSR BCA Inge Setiawati accompanied by Vice President of CSR BCA Ira Bachtar on Thursday (26/11). Tourism Village observer Lia Afriza, Head of Samiran Boyolali Tourism Village Dayang Nevia Afriansari and Housewives and Coordinator of MSMEs in Tamansari Village Wahyu Dwi Lestari were also present as speakers. This inspirational webinar was attended by 12 BCA fostered villages.

"BCA's responsibility in developing Bakti BCA fostered villages continues to be realized through digital assistance at this time. In accordance with the government's appeal and the SDGs to involve women in various activities, BCA supports the involvement of women's roles in the development of tourist villages. Through this support, we want to motivate Indonesian women to keep working under any circumstances and anywhere," said Inge Setiawati.

"Women's role in tourist villages can be realized through several aspects, such as coordinating the management of tourist villages and providing innovations for developing handicraft products in tourist villages. Women must rise up in the fight against the pandemic by showing leadership and creativity potential that can be honed through inspirational programs such as this webinar." said Inge Setiawati.

The Excellent Business Solutions Program is part of BCA's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program for fostering MSMEs, communities and villages that have tourism potential and cultural education. BCA itself through the Bakti BCA program has developed 12 fostered tourist villages spread across Sumatra, Java and Bali.

BCA's commitment to supporting women's role is also demonstrated through gender equality in the company's operations by providing opportunities for women to be in strategic positions in the company.

“The ongoing pandemic has not become a barrier for BCA in approaching and monitoring the fostered villages that we manage. One of them is BCA's consistency in providing support for homestay administrators and owners so that they can continue to innovate and be creative to welcome the new era of vacation after the pandemic," concluded Inge Setiawati.
