Jakarta, February 25th 2016 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) fully supports digital and technology-based banking to increase ease, convenience, and value for Indonesian digital users. This year’s Social Media Week 2016 chose the theme “The Invisible Hand – Hidden Forces of Technology”, where BCA hosted The Future of Banking session.
The event was coordinated by Merah Cipta Media on 22-26 February 2016 at Senayan City Hall, Jakarta. BCA Director Armand Hartono presented The Future of Banking and shared BCA’s experience in developing digital and technology-based banking products and services.
“Social media has become a force in daily Indonesian life. As a bank that pays attention to the development of digital and technology, BCA must be ready with projections and plans for the future. Public need for banking services will continue to change, especially with rapid technological development. Our mobility needs continue to rise and they demand parallel innovations from the banking world to provide practical, dynamic, and accessible products and services,” Armand explained.
BCA consistently innovate its products and banking services to suit customer needs. Products are not only launched for their technological advancement or updates, but for their effective application. If customers can glean benefits from products, then the company is thinking of their wellbeing.
“Indonesia is in a transition period towards online everything. Of course, we do not want to be left behind. BCA has proven that it is operating side-by-side with digital and technological advancements through our recognized products, such as LAKU, Duitt, and Sakuku. With Sakuku, BCA offered customers with the convenience to conduct transactions using a smartphone app. Customers can pay digitally, including topping up mobile credit for themselves and their friends,” Armand added.
With a population of nearly 250 million, Indonesia has the potential to be a digital and smartphone market giant. According to Emarketer, more than 100 million people are predicted to be smartphone users. This also means that Indonesia is one of the largest social media users in the world.
This is not BCA’s first involvement in the event. Last year, BCA participated by sharing BCA’s social media presence and experience. BCA has placed social media at the forefront of their customer service communication channel through official accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Mindtalk, Kaskus, event Slideshare. BCA’s ubiquitous social media presense aims to provide a closer reach for customers to find information, references, as well as financial solution for Indonesians and BCA customers.
Armand added how BCA’s crucial role in the development and use of digital and technology has been recognized at the Social Media & Digital Marketing Award 2015 in October 2015. BCA earned the title of Great Performing Product for its Internet Banking, ATM, SMS Banking, Credit Card, and E-wallet Flazz products; Great Performing Website for www.bca.co.id; and Social Media Marketing Award for Credit Card BCA.
“We will continue to pay more attention to this development and analyze the methods we can apply information technology, including on using social media as a basis for banking services. Hopefully the presentation we see today can inspire viewers and BCA customers to take advantage of digital and technology-based banking services, so we can immediately enjoy the real Future of Banking,” Armand concluded.
