Jakarta, 7 March 2026 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) once again brought three delegations from tourism villages under its Bakti BCA program (Desa Bakti BCA) to promote their tourism packages at the Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB) Berlin 2026, held on 3–5 March 2026 at Berlin ExpoCenter City, Messe Berlin, Germany. The three villages representing the Desa Bakti BCA program at ITB Berlin 2026 are Desa Wisata Taro (Bali), Wisata Wayang Dusun Pucung Wukirsari (Special Region of Yogyakarta), and Desa Wisata Kampung Prai Ijing/Tebara (East Nusa Tenggara).
“Desa Bakti BCA’s participation in ITB Berlin 2026 is a strategic step to expand international market access for local communities. We want to demonstrate that Indonesian tourism villages have global competitiveness, both in terms of cultural uniqueness and natural beauty. This is a tangible manifestation of our commitment to driving local economic growth by strengthening a sustainability-oriented tourism ecosystem,” said BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono.
ITB Berlin is one of the largest and oldest tourism industry exhibitions in the world. The event brings together global travel industry players from 159 countries, including national and regional tourism boards, airlines, hotels and resorts, travel agents and tour operators, digital travel platforms, media, and tourism investors. Since it was first held in 1966, the exhibition has only been absent once, in 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic affected the entire world.
At ITB Berlin 2026, the Desa Bakti BCA delegation marketed their tourism packages at a booth titled “Tourism Villages by Bakti BCA,” as part of the Indonesia Pavilion managed by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia. This year, the Bakti BCA delegation carries the theme “Discover #DesaBaktiBCA.” Cultural richness, strong local spirit, and international-quality experiences form the unique appeal of the tourism destinations offered to international visitors. In addition to the three Desa Bakti BCA delegations present, eight tourism packages from other Desa Bakti BCA villages are also showcased, including Desa Wisata Hijau Bilebante (West Nusa Tenggara), Desa Wisata Dayun (Riau), and Desa Wisata Pulau Derawan (East Kalimantan).
Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia Widiyanti Putri Wardhana welcomed the continued collaboration. “We appreciate the consistency of Bakti BCA in actively bridging
selected tourism villages across Indonesia with international tourists. This strategic partnership is an important step in introducing the beauty of our nature and culture to the global stage. Moving forward, the Ministry of Tourism will continue collaborating with various stakeholders, including BCA, to strengthen the capacity of Indonesian tourism villages. We hope our tourism villages will continue to compete in the global tourism industry,” she said.
Through the Desa Bakti BCA pillar, the company carries a mission to support sustainability and empower local communities economically. The pillar focuses on two main areas: capacity building through upskilling human resources and strengthening institutional capacity, as well as market access expansion through promotion and other initiatives. In this effort to expand international market access, Bakti BCA collaborated with Caventer Destination Management Company (DMC).
The three delegations representing Desa Bakti BCA at ITB Berlin were selected through a rigorous curation process and have received various forms of preparation from Bakti BCA, including English language classes with native speakers, insights about ITB Berlin, and strengthening of product knowledge and team optimization. These efforts aim to optimize promotional activities for each Desa Bakti BCA to potential international tourists.
This year marks the second participation of Desa Bakti BCA at the event. From ITB Berlin 2025, Desa Bakti BCA successfully attracted 96 travel agents as potential buyers, which later materialized into visits by nearly 300 international tourists to Desa Bakti BCA destinations. These visits contributed to direct revenue totaling IDR 536 million for the participating tourism villages.
“In conducting our business, BCA believes in the principle of creating shared value. As a company, we grow and develop together with the community, which is why it is important for us to consistently uphold our commitment to creating social impact for the people of Indonesia,” concluded Antonius Widodo Mulyono.
