Yogyakarta, 2 May 2025 — PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) held one of its initiatives, BCA Berbagi Ilmu (BBI), at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in Yogyakarta on Wednesday (30/4). This edition of the public lecture, held under the Bakti BCA initiative, carried the theme “Digitalization and Its Impact on Business.”
The BBI series at UGM drew over 400 student participants, marking the third edition of the 2025 BBI program, following previous sessions at Brawijaya University, Malang (17/3), and the University of Indonesia, Depok (21/4). BCA Director Santoso delivered the keynote speech at the event, which took place at the Sukadji Ranuwihardjo Auditorium, Master of Management Program. The session was also attended by UGM university leadership and BCA management.
“The rapid advancement of digitalization has significantly impacted human life, and makes us have to be able to adapt swiftly. To keep pace, we must equip ourselves with adequate knowledge and technological expertise. As a national banking institution, BCA recognizes the need to contribute by encouraging the younger generation to understand the impact of digitalization across all aspects of life and to be well-prepared for the future,” said BCA Director Santoso.
During the BBI UGM session, students were encouraged to grasp the importance of creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking in navigating digitalization. Santoso reminded attendees to remain vigilant and prioritize caution in the digital realm. In addition, students must be able to utilize technology effectively to improve work quality. BCA has been doing these things to improve the quality of service to customers.
“At BCA, we believe that continuous innovation and adaptability are essential to corporate success. Technology plays a crucial role in enabling us to deliver optimal service to both our customers and society. A clear example of this is the development of BCA Mobile and myBCA. Those two applications are designed to keep pace with the rapid technological advancements and the evolving needs of our customers. Additionally, our extensive ATM network across regions ensures seamless and accessible services for all customers,” Santoso added.
In addition to BBI, Bakti BCA encourages youth participation in driving positive change through its "Genera-Z Berbakti" program. This program is open to active students from all universities. In this competition-based initiative, students are invited to submit proposals for community service projects that create a positive impact, particularly in rural areas. Selected teams may receive funding, mentorship, appreciation awards totaling hundreds of millions of rupiah, certificates, and support for academic publications from Bakti BCA.
"The organization of BCA Berbagi Ilmu is motivated by the belief that the younger generation is an important actor in the nation’s future leaders. Therefore, it is important for us to help equip them to become good leaders for themselves and society. Through Bakti BCA, we are committed to making a positive impact on all levels of society, starting from the individual, community and ecosystem levels.” concluded BCA Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn.
