Jakarta, February 29th 2016 – Less than five months after the launch of Sakuku, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) presents the latest innovation from the electronic transaction-based banking service. High levels of interest from younger people and customers in the digital product encouraged BCA to improve service quality in the latest version of Sakuku that offers increasingly attractive features in order to respond to customers' needs.
Sakuku Plus is one of a series of product features at BCA’s 59th anniversary celebration. "BCA customers have enjoyed Sakuku for the past five months. Up to February 2016, tens of thousands of customers are already using the BCA Sakuku feature. We respond to the interest of the general public in this digital banking service by continuously developing app features to be able to reach the more increasingly diverse needs of customers. This is in line with our innovation, which takes the convenience offered by today's digital world and integrate it into our products to provide added value for customers and society," explained BCA Head of Fund Development and Services Ina Suwandi.
Whereas in the past we have been able to use Sakuku to top up either for oneself or others, as well as for payments at online and physical merchants, Sakuku Plus allows friends to split the bill with fellow Sakuku Plus users.
Additionally, although Sakuku is a digital banking service, customers can withdraw funds from their Sakuku Plus at the nearest ATM BCA. The maximum balance of Rp 1.000.000 has now been increased to a maximum of Rp 5.000.000. "Sakuku balance inquiry is now even more convenient. It is not only available through m-BCA on BCA mobile, Sakuku Plus users can also top up at ATM BCA and KlikBCA Individuals. We can also send or request a transfer of funds to other Sakuku Plus users," Ina added.
To use features, such as Transfer, Split Bill, Cash Advance, as well as topping up Sakuku balance up to Rp 5,000,000, users are required to activate Sakuku Plus beforehand, using one of the following three options:
1. Automatic offer from m-BCA
For those using the same mobile number for m-BCA and Sakuku, and have active transactions within the last one (1) month minimum, customers will automatically be offered to upgrade to Sakuku Plus.
2. Sakuku Plus Activation Menu
Paspor/ATM BCA cardholders can access the Settings menu/Sakuku Activation or choose Split Bill/Transfer/Withdraw Cash on Sakuku application, and receive automatic offer to activate Sakuku Plus.
3. Visiting the nearest branch
Customers and non-customers may visit the nearest BCA branch with a valid proof of identity (KTP).
Notes:
* Sakuku users should update to the latest Sakuku app version beforehand. Find it in application stores (version 1.2.0), and then choose/perform activation on Sakuku Plus
* New users must download and register for Sakuku (version 1.2.0) from the application store, and then choose/perform Sakuku Plus activation.
"Sakuku Plus is one of BCA's efforts facilitate customers, especially younger generation who are active smartphone users and whose daily activities are closely connected with the digital world. Comprehensive Sakuku Plus features is expected to make hang out more all out," Ina continued.
In addition to performing payment transactions, balance inquiries, mobile credit top up, bill split, and cash withdrawal at ATM BCA, customers can also enjoy a number of other features. With Sakuku Plus, customers can conduct a variety of transactions, including transfer and transaction history inquiry. Menu Settings in Sakuku Plus also allows customers to switch Sakuku profiles, such as the cover picture, so users can view other Sakuku Plus friends.
From February 29 to April 30 2016, Sakuku offers a promo for Sakuku Plus users. For every payment transactions at all Sakuku merchants (online or physical store) for a minimum of Rp 30.000/transactions/day, customers will receive Sakuku cashback worth Rp 25,000/day. Promo is valid for the first 59,000 transactions during the promo period.
Sakuku itself is one form of BCA support for National Movement of Non-Cash (GNNT) initiated by the government. By the end of 2015 BI noted that electronic money usage has reached 5.2 trillion. The figure has increased compared to the use of electronic money in 2009, which only amounted to Rp 520 billion. BCA hoped the presence Sakuku and innovative features can increase non-cash transactions in Indonesia and cultivate the habit of using non-cash money amongst Indonesian people. "This positive achievement should be maintained, and even improved. As an actor in national banking industry, BCA wishes to contribute in the improvement of electronic money transactions, namely by presenting the latest features in Sakuku, electronic money-based application accessible through smartphones," Ina concluded.
