Jakarta, 17 October 2018 – The role of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) in expeditiously advancing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the era of massive digital technology today received appreciation from various parties, including from the Big Data Indonesia & AI (ABDI) Association at the DataGovAI Summit, Expo & Awards 2018. This time, BCA brought home the Best Data Governance in Banking Digital Services award.
Attending to receive the award was Executive Vice President Center of Digital BCA Wani Sabu accompanied by Senior Vice President of Data Management Group Strategic Information Technology of BCA Dirgo Vanto submitted by Head of the National Cyber and State Board (BSSN) Djoko Setiadi Wednesday (17/10). “It is an honor for us, BCA, as a financial provider in Indonesia to receive an award as an institution that has successfully implemented technological developments and is aware of the importance of data processing in advancing our banking services,” explained Wani.
“We see that in the era of industrial revolution 4.0, which leads to digitalization and automation, large companies, including BCA, must quickly adapt to changes. This is what makes us keeps going in achieving satisfaction. The entire management of BCA always strives to stay current and attentive to the technological developments,” added Wani.
DataGovAI Summit, Expo & Awards is a series of activities engaged in IT (Small Data), Big Data Analytic Technology, Governance & Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Big Data Indonesia & AI (ABDI) Association awarded companies that succeeded in becoming a transformer and disruptor of big data governance and artificial intelligence in Indonesia. For its strategic steps in implementing the concepts of data processing well, BCA won the Best Data Governance in Banking Digital Services.
Besides the awards, DataGovAI Summit, Expo & Awards was also filled with a series of conferences and exhibitions. Expert speakers lined up to conduct a panel discussion, presentations, as well as sessions about networking among the industry players.
One of BCA’s innovations that utilizes AI technology includes Virtual Assistant Chat Banking BCA (VIRA), a virtual assistant specifically designed to facilitate customer financial transactions. By utilizing Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Artificial Intelligence(AI), VIRA can understand the vernacular spoken by customers about BCA banking services. VIRA provides customers with up-to-date information including promotions, exchange rates, and ATM locations. It is fairly easy to use. Customers can utilize the feature on several channels such as LINE, Google Assistant, Kaskus Chat, and Facebook Messenger.
“As is VIRA, we will continue to build and develop innovative technological digitization as the customers’ needs continue to grow. And the award that BCA received tonight is motivating us to provide our customers with the best products and services by maintaining quality service,” Wani Sabu concluded.
