Improving MSME Role for Indonesian Economy, BCA Organizes Macro Economy in Digital Era Seminar

Bandung, 28 March 2018 – Committed to be the leading bank of choice that serves as an important pillar of Indonesia’s economy, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to support the development of MSME segment as one of the main drivers in Indonesia’s economy. This time, BCA’s effort is realized through the Bakti BCA program’s Macro Economy in Digital Era of 2018 Seminar, followed by 100 MSME entreprenuers from Bandung.

Attending to open the seminar was Advisor for MSME & SME of BCA’s Regional Office I Bandung Alexander Lee, Vice President Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of BCA Ira Bachtar and Vice President of Small & Medium Business Division (DBKM) Ade Bachtiar. Under the theme of ‘Macro Economy in Digital Era’, the seminar invited BCA’s economist David Sumual as a keynote speaker in Bandung, Wednesday (28/03).  

“BCA is constantly striving to improve the various business sectors of society in order to grow and progress independently. Various programs have been prepared to support these efforts. Through continuous programs such as seminars and training, BCA is committed to facilitate MSME actors to develop their business in the long term,” said Alex.

Some activities that have been done include providing consultation services and training regarding simple financial and taxation report for MSME. This time, BCA accommodates MSME actors in Bandung with a seminar titled Macro Economy in Digital Era, online marketing, sharing sessionwith MSME debtors and practicing taking photo products.

Alex added, BCA’s commitment to develop MSME in Bandung is derived from a desire to contribute to the Indonesian people that can encourage the growth and development of micro and small business actors. Business Seminars for MSME Actors were also held to explore the potential of loan disbursement in MSME sector. This year, the ratio of MSME loan disbursement is set to reach 20 percent of the total of BCA’s loan portfolio. In 2017, commercial and SME loan distributed by BCA amounting to Rp167.49 trillion or increased by 10.3% (YoY).

“Today, the empowerment of MSME can also increase economic activities in Indonesia. We hope that BCA can contribute in MSME development in Indonesia through the seminars it held, which in turn help educe unemployment rate, combat poverty, and create Indonesia’s signature products that can compete both domestically and abroad,” Alex concluded.

BCA Organizes Macro Economy in Digital Era Seminar – BCA’s economist David Sumual gave a presentation on the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) at the ‘Macro Economy in Digital Era’ followed by 100 MSME entrepreneurs from Bandung at Hotel Grand Tebu, Bandung, Wednesday (28/03). In addition, these actors were also provided with an explanation about simple financial and taxation report also practicing how to create product photos.
