Jakarta, November 4, 2021 – Talking about finance is often considered as a taboo subject for some people, but this should be considered a normal thing nowadays. The existence of this gap also makes the financial literacy index still not increase significantly. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) as a part of national finance also supports the financial literacy education program.
BCA's commitment to expand financial literacy education is implemented through the LDR “Lihat dari Rumah” series on Financial Literacy education edition together with influencers and Principal Consultant @Zapfinance Prita Ghozie. The LDR virtual talk show is broadcast on Instagram @goodlifebca and SolusiBCA's Youtube channel, at 19.00 WIB, Thursday (11/04).
“As a national banking institution, it is BCA’s responsibility and commitment to provide financial literacy education. This education is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility program that is also supported by other working units. We observed the data released by the OJK regarding the financial literacy index that is still low, even though digitalization is currently growing. We also accompany programs like this with real actions to the community," said Inge Setiawati as EVP CSR of BCA.
In this episode, LDR encourages viewers to reflect and open their minds to understand dreams that can be realized through good financial planning. Apart from that, viewers can also make financial plans using the tips shared in the show. BCA desires to build financial education basics so other parties start to support this OJK’s program.
“Hang your dream as high as possible, then do it with SMART, Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time, understand our dreams so that we know what we have to do do” said Prita.
As an effort to improve financial literacy education, BCA has also implemented several programs related to financial literacy. There are more than 500 thousand benefit recipients with a focus on programs including education for students and college students, education for families of Indonesian migrant workers (Saba Desa Program), financial literacy education by utilizing the Financial Literacy Car (SiMOLEK) initiated by the OJK, and improving LAKU BCA products to community. Most of these educational activities are implemented in various regions that still have a low financial literacy index.
The LDR virtual talk show itself is an initiative performed by BCA in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic to invite community to know more about BCA's CSR programs through virtual broadcasts. Many major themes have been raised in the LDR, such as discussing BCA mentored tourism villages with its tourism potentials, orangutan conservation in Kalimantan, Bakti BCA educational scholarships for state universities, and many more.
“ Hopefully, this program provides comprehensive financial literacy education for community. We need to understand together that this financial literacy education is a positive program for all levels in the community wherever they are. We are committed to continue creating educational programs like this in the future," Inge concluded.
