Bakti BCA Opens Registration for Teacher Tech Championship 2026, Brings High School/MA in Sulawesi to Innovate STEM Learning

Jakarta, 1 Juli 2026 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) through the Bakti BCA program officially opens the registration period for Teacher Tech Championship (TTC) 2926. This competition and teacher professional development program focuses on innovating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning. TTC 2026 is proof of BCA's consistency in supporting the increasing quality of education in Indonesia and supporting the programs from The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) regarding the learning of Coding & AI.

Entering its second year, TTC is here for High School/MA teachers in six provinces in Sulawesi Island, which are North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi. This competition is open to teachers who teach Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, as well as Craftsmanship and Entrepreneurship. Commencing from June to October, TTC 2026 is themed around "Innovation of STEM-based learning materials to support Deep-Learning."

"Through Teacher Tech Championship 2026, we want to work alongside the teachers in Sulawesi to continue to innovate and make use of technology in an adaptive way. We believe every teacher has room to grow, and that they are able to create a learning experience that is far more meaningful and interactive for future generations," said BCA Director Antonius Widodo.

According to Antonius Widodo, the increase in quality of national education has to start with the capacity-building of its educators. This is in line with the increasing number of teachers in Indonesia over the past few years.

TTC was first held in 2025, to find innovations around the theme of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) from teachers in Maluku and Papua. As many as 249 teachers participated in TTC's first edition which is a program under the Bakti Pendidikan pillar under Bakti BCA. Several innovative works that won TTC 2025 covered IoT-Based Solar-Powered Unmanned Amphibious Waste-Collecting Boat Prototype by a teacher from SMAN 1 Tual, Prototype of an IoT-based Environmental Cleanliness Credit System by a teacher from SMAN 4 West Halmahera, IoT-Based Water Quality Monitoring and Early Warning System for Schools (Household Environment) by a teacher from SMAN 2 Sorong, and the Eco Smart Bin by a teacher from MAN Sorong City based on the principle of sustainable building.

During TTC 2026, activities were designed comprehensively not just to facilitate competing participants, but also to provide participants with resources through a series of intensive bootcamps and specialized support. Teachers will be strengthening competency in computational thinking, basic coding, use of artificial intelligence (AI), as well as implementing the design thinking method to create prototypes of learning resources that are relevant to each school's challenges.

BCA EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn hopes that STEM-based innovations in TTC 2026 can become a supporting catalyst in the birth of deep learning methods in the classroom. "With creative learning resources, we want to help students grow into critical, collaborative individuals, who are ready to face dynamic global competitions in the coming years," said Hera.

Registration for Teacher Tech Championship 2026 is open starting from 30 June 2026 free of charge. Further information regarding qualifications, selection phase timelines, and registration can be accessed through official channels in BCA's website on bca.id/teachertechchampionship.
