BCA’s 60th Anniversary #BecomeBetter: BCA Holds Team Building Workshop for Pindul Cave Tourism and Wayang Wukirsari Tourist Village

Yogyakarta, 20 March 2017 - Marking its 60th anniversary, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) is committed to #BecomeBetter not only in providing banking services and solutions, but also in promoting Indonesia tourism potential. This time, BCA implements its commitment by holding a Team Building Workshop for Pindul Cave Tourism and Wayang Wukirsari Tourist Village.

Attending to open the workshop program was Senior Advisor of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Solution Development BCA Sapto Rachmadi and Head of BCA KCU Yogyakarta Saswito Tjoe at The Cangkringan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, Monday (20/03). The training program which took place on 20 to 21 March 2017 aimed to develop a solid teamwork between the managers of Pindul Cave Tourism and Wayang Wukirsari Tourist Village to provide excellent service to tourists.

“In the celebration of BCA’s 60th anniversary, BCA is committed to Become Better through its three pillars of Learn Better, Serve Better and Give Better. This Team Building program is part of BCA’s commitment to Give Better to the people of Pindul Cave and Wayang Wukirsari Tourist Village by promoting mutual trust and respect among the managers of the tourism village, which is important in supporting excellence in service delivery to domestic and foreign tourists,” said Sapto.

As widely known, Yogyakarta has been dubbed as favorite tourist destination for both domestic and foreign tourists. In 2017, Yogyakarta Tourist Office is targeting 400,000 foreign tourist arrivals, an increase compared to previous year’s target of 360,000 arrivals. This tourism potential has led BCA to actively provide guidance and training in several tourism villages, namely Pindul Cave and Wayang Wukirsari. Currently, Gunung Kidul Regency has become a new popular destination in Yogyakarta, including the Pindul Cave Tourism which brings 3 million tourists every year, with revenues reaching Rp 5 billion. Meanwhile, Wukirsari, known as one of the wayang tourism destinations located in the regency of Bantul, Yogyakarta, where tourists will have the pleasure of learning the art of wayang directly from the artisans.

“This Team Building program is held on the basis of the importance of developing excellent service quality as one of the factors to supporting the success of tourism industry development,” added Sapto.

With the Team Building Workshop, the managers of Pindul Cave Tourism and Wayang Wukirsari Tourist Village will be equipped with a series of courses, including Team Work, Team Collaboration as well as Problem Solving & Action Plan.”The workshop symbolizes BCA’s commitment to help improve the welfare of the people of Yogyakarta and achieve equitable distribution of economy in Indonesia. This workshop is expected to build togetherness, caring and empathy, required to build a solid and excellent teamwork,” Sapto concluded.

This workshop is expected to stimulate self-leadership and intrapersonal skills development as the foundation for improving the managers’ capacity, competitiveness, and target achievement.
