Improving Information Asset Security, BCA Bags ISO 27001:2013 Certification

Jakarta, November 23, 2021 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BCA) is committed to consistently prioritize security, especially the confidentiality of data both internally and externally. This is also implemented by BCA through the Enterprise Security Working Unit (SKES) responsible for protecting and securing BCA's information assets from cyber threats. Most recently, to improve the Information Security Management System (SMKI), the Enterprise Security Working Unit implemented ISO and has received ISO 27001:2013 certification, thereby further improving BCA's credibility as a financial institution in Indonesia.

With ISO 27001:2013 certification for Information Security Management System (SMKI) complements BCA's international certification. Previously, BCA has received ISO 27001:2013 certification for IT Management in the Data Center Operation & Network Team. In addition, BCA has also received ISO 9001:2015 certification for Customer Business Performance, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) 3.2.1 certification for Global Data Security Standards, and ISO 20000-1:2018 certification for IT Service Management.

The certification handover ceremony was held in a hybrid manner at BCA Tower attended by Vice President Director of BCA Armand Hartono, Director of BCA Hendra Lembong, Managing Director of SGS Indonesia Mike Bruinsma and Chief Technology Officer of PT Lemti Unindo Innovation Ari Rinaldi Sumarmo on Tuesday (11/23). This ceremony was also attended by the entire management of BCA and other examiners.

“We are proud and happy to receive this ISO 27001:2013 certification. Because the certification is the proof that BCA has implemented appropriate and effective information security management standards. This certification covers all aspects of SKES such as protection of information assets both internally and externally, information security governance and special ID security. This information security management is also an effort made by BCA to comply with regulations issued by regulators and the government," Hendra Lembong said.

To receive this certification, BCA has implemented a series of audits conducted by PT SGS Indonesia in September and last October. Meanwhile, assistance to receive this certification was performed by PT Lemti Unindo Innovation. In addition, ISO or International Organization for Standardization is an international organization that handles standardization around the world covering certain technicalities.

“With this standardization will help the community in obtaining information about the quality assurance provided by an organization. ISO 27001:2013 is a standard in information security management systems, through this certification the community and customers will be given an overview of the implementation of information protection at BCA," Armand Hartono concluded.
