PT Bank Central Asia Tbk First Nine Months 2019 Results - Solid and Sustainable Growth

Jakarta, 28 October 2019 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (IDX: BBCA) and its subsidiaries reported consolidated financial results for the first nine months of 2019. Net profit increased 13.0% YoY to Rp20.9 trillion, supported by solid operating income performance. In line with the Bank’s loan growth, net interest income increased 12.2% YoY to Rp37.4 trillion. Non-interest income grew 19.3% YoY to Rp15.0 trillion, driven by increasing fees & commissions and trading income. 

“BCA recorded increasing loan portfolio in various segments as well as in core CASA funds. Customer trust in BCA’s financial services enable us to have a sustained business performance. BCA continued to make innovations to accommodate customer’s growing needs.” said BCA President Director, Mr. Jahja Setiaatmadja. 

Total loans increased 10.9% YoY to Rp585 trillion and NPL was recorded at 1.6% in September 2019. Loan portfolio growth was mainly supported by business loans, including corporate loans that grew 16.5% YoY to Rp232.0 trillion and Commercial & SME loans that increased 10.5% YoY to Rp192.2 trillion. Meanwhile, consumer loans increased 4.1% YoY to Rp156.3 trillion. Within the consumer segment, mortgages grew 6.8% YoY to  Rp92.1  trillion;  vehicle  loans  decreased  2.0% YoY to Rp47.8 trillion primarily due to a decrease in two-wheeler financing; and credit card outstanding balances grew 10.4% YoY to Rp13.4 trillion in September 2019. In the same period, Sharia financing increased 5.9% YoY to Rp5.0 trillion. 

The preeminence in transaction banking continued to support BCA in growing Current Accounts and Savings Accounts (CASA) as its core funds. BCA recorded a 10.4% growth of total third party funds to reach Rp683.1 trillion with CASA contributed 75.2% of the total. CASA grew 7.6% YoY to Rp513.9 trillion on the back of strong increase in number of transactions particularly in e-channels. In the meantime, time deposits increased 19.7% YoY to Rp169.2 trillion. 

BCA continued to deliver solid financial metrics. The Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) were recorded at healthy levels of  23.8%  and  80.6%  respectively.  Return on Assets (ROA) came in at 4.0%
