Tangerang, 9 February 2026 – There was a special attraction that caught the attention of Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Enik Ermawati, during her visit to BCA Expoversary 2026 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Friday (February 6). While visiting the Bakti BCA booth, the woman affectionately known as Ni Luh Puspa engaged in conversations with natural-dyed textile weavers and danced together with members of the Sumba indigenous community.
Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa said she was delighted to enjoy all the attractions presented at BCA Expoversary 2026. “Exhibitions like this are important because they connect travelers with a wide range of tourism products and destinations. They also support the sustainable development of Indonesia’s tourism sector,” she said.
While touring the Bakti BCA booth located in Hall 3, Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa was accompanied by BCA Director Santoso and EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility BCA Hera F. Haryn. The group observed a variety of handicrafts and traditional attractions from tourism villages and local business players supported by Bakti BCA.
After being symbolically welcomed at the Bakti BCA booth, Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa proceeded to visit the Wastra Warna Alam booth. She spoke directly with Diana Kalera Lena, a native weaver from Sumba. Diana plays an important role in the collaboration between her local weaving community and Bakti BCA. She was the first weaver from her community to join the natural-dyed textile training program and later encouraged 13 people from her village to participate in the program.
After speaking with Diana, Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa visited several other booths, including the Kampung Batik Gemah Sumilir booth and the Kampung Pra Ijing/Tebara Tourism Village booth. At the latter, Ni Luh Puspa enthusiastically joined in dancing with members of the Sumba indigenous community. The dance performed was the Kagoro Kana Alu Dance, also known as the Rangkak Alu Dance, a legendary traditional dance from East Nusa Tenggara.
Ni Luh Puspa expressed her hope that exhibitions like this would further enhance the appeal of Indonesian tourism. She also emphasized that building a competitive tourism sector requires strong synergy between the government, industry, and the community. “With this synergy, we hope it can become part of the journey toward Indonesia Emas 2045,” Ni Luh Puspa said.
EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility BCA Hera F. Haryn said that the presence of Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa reflects the government’s support for Indonesia’s tourism sector. In the same vein, she added that BCA is also committed to strengthening the sector through its Bakti BCA program.
For example, Kampung Prai Ijing/Tebara Tourism Village is one of the 28 villages supported by Bakti BCA (Desa Bakti BCA). Through this program, Bakti BCA provides comprehensive assistance ranging from human resource capacity building, strengthening tourism attractions, service management, and financial literacy training, to expanding market access and empowering local MSMEs.
“Local tourism in Indonesia has tremendous potential to grow into leading destinations—not only attracting travelers, but also generating economic, cultural, and sustainability value for communities. Through the Bakti BCA development program, we hope to strengthen capacities and open up opportunities for progress for tourism villages,” Hera concluded.
