BCA Reveals 3 Key Drivers of myBCA Transaction Growth

 

Jakarta, 22 February 2025 – The myBCA superapp continues to evolve into one of BCA’s most reliable digital service platforms, in supporting customer needs. Complementing its predecessor, BCA mobile, myBCA is equipped with excellent features that offer a more comprehensive and convenient banking experience.

PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has seen positive growth in the myBCA application, with total transactions reaching 6.9 billion in 2024. This milestone highlights the increasing adoption of myBCA services and the rising trust in digital banking solutions.

During a talk show session at the mini studio of BCA Expoversary 2025, BCA EVP of Transaction Banking Business Development I Ketut Alam Wangsawijaya explained, “Currently, transaction frequency on myBCA has increased by up to 128% YoY. This figure reflects how digital services are becoming an integral part of customers’ daily lives. We are confident that myBCA will continue to grow, offering an even more seamless and efficient transaction experience for all customers through various innovations.”

There are three features most frequently used by customers that have significantly contributed to myBCA's growth: fund transfers, virtual account transactions, and QRIS transactions. Fund transfers between accounts remain the most widely used service, catering to both personal and business needs. Meanwhile, virtual account transactions follow closely, driven by the growing demand for e-commerce payments, bill settlements, and e-wallet top-ups. Lastly, the QRIS feature is frequently utilized for secure and convenient payments. As of December 2024, QRIS transactions on myBCA have surged by 554% YoY.

Beyond these three key features, myBCA’s growth is also driven by other innovative features, the latest being Poket Valas. This feature allows users to hold savings in 16 foreign currencies and conduct financial transactions (such as cash withdrawals/in-store purchases via EDC) abroad without currency conversion (1:1) using a BCA Mastercard Debit. Additionally, Paylater BCA has contributed to myBCA’s expansion by offering a flexible payment solution, particularly in emergency situations. Launched in October 2023, the service’s outstanding reached Rp339 billion by the end of January 2025, reflecting a 185% YoY increase.

Paylater BCA utilizes QRIS for transactions, giving customers the flexibility to choose their payment source—either their savings account or Paylater BCA—after scanning a QRIS code. Similar to a credit card, it enables customers to make purchases first and settle payments later according to their chosen repayment plan,” Ketut stated.

The Paylater feature in myBCA can be activated with no administrative fees. BCA also offers various repayment options, ranging from full payment at the end of the month to installments with tenors of 3, 6, or 12 months. Customers can enjoy 0% interest for 1-month and 3-month tenors during the promotional period, which runs until March 31, 2025.

As of December 2024, myBCA has reached 7.7 million users, with 78% from the millennial generation. BCA remains committed to educating customers about the benefits of myBCA, including through annual events like BCA Expoversary 2025. During the event, customers can shop for a variety of needs, from gadgets and home appliances to fashion, beauty, travel, and local products from Bakti BCA-assisted MSMEs and BCA Bangga Lokal, while enjoying exclusive promos and a seamless payment experience via myBCA and BCA mobile.

“BCA continuously adapts to the evolving needs and preferences of our customers, which is why we have introduced a single application that seamlessly integrates various financial services,” Ketut concluded.
