Yogyakarta, 27 September 2024 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to broaden its contributions to Indonesia, particularly in the field of education. One of the forms of this contribution is the collaboration between BCA and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to facilitate Single Tuition Fees (UKT) payment services through the BCA Virtual Account Online and BCA Application Programming Interface (API) facilities. This partnership represents a significant step in advancing the digital payment ecosystem and promoting financial inclusion within the education sector.
To formalize this collaboration, BCA and UGM held a signing ceremony to implement UKT payment transaction services via BCA Virtual Account Online and API BCA on Friday (27/9). The event was attended by BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono, UGM Vice Rector for Human Resources and Finance Prof. Dr. Supriyadi, M.Sc., UGM Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. dr. Gandes Retno Rahayu, M.Med.Ed., Ph.D., UGM Director of Student Affairs Dr. Sindung Tjahyadi, UGM Director of Finance Prof. Syaiful Ali., MIS., Ph. Starting May 30, 2024, parents and UGM students will have the flexibility to make UKT payments anytime and anywhere using the BCA Virtual Account Online facility. They can easily access this service through various BCA digital channels, including the myBCA and BCA mobile applications. With the integration of API BCA capabilities, the UGM UKT payment portal will seamlessly connect to BCA banking services. This enables UGM to efficiently monitor, manage, and report on educational funds comprehensively.
BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono expressed, “The partnership between BCA and UGM has been firmly established through the various forms of support provided by both institutions. Today, our collaboration is further strengthened by offering UKT payment services via the BCA Virtual Account Online and API BCA. We aim for this partnership to enhance flexibility and convenience for parents and UGM students when making UKT payments through multiple BCA digital channels. Additionally, with the API BCA integration, we aspire to assist UGM in developing a more efficient and transparent UKT payment portal.”
BCA became the first bank in Indonesia to offer API services in 2017. BCA developed the API BCA for digital connectivity with trusted third parties, thereby expanding the use of BCA products and services to other ecosystems. Currently, API BCA’s connection has been upgraded to comply with the National Open API Payment Standard (SNAP) set by Bank Indonesia. This effort is expected to create an innovative, safe, and reliable UKT payment mechanism at UGM.
UGM Vice Rector for Human Resources and Finance Prof. Dr. Supriyadi, M.Sc. welcomed this collaboration and expressed his appreciation to BCA for its continued innovation in simplifying the digital payment system. “The launch of UKT payment services via the myBCA and BCA mobile applications strengthens the partnership between BCA and UGM. This collaboration simplifies the UKT payment process for students. Looking ahead, we hope that UGM and BCA can work even more closely together to develop new innovations that improve accessibility and efficiency in Indonesia's education sector,” stated Prof. Dr. Supriyadi.
BCA’s commitment to advancing education in Indonesia is strengthened through various initiatives under Bakti BCA. Through the Bakti Pendidikan pillar, BCA supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting quality education for all. BCA believes that education is the best investment for the future of the younger generation. Therefore, BCA continues to play an active role through various programs under Bakti Pendidikan pillar, including the Beasiswa Bakti BCA (Bakti BCA Scholarship), financial literacy education, teacher training in Eastern Indonesia, and support for the digital economy through the SYNRGY Accelerator & Academy.
One of the flagship programs under the Bakti Pendidikan pillar is the “BCA Berbagi Ilmu” program. Launched in 2023, this initiative includes a series of public lectures for over 6,000 students across 10 universities in Indonesia. The lectures are delivered directly by BCA’s board of directors. In 2023, UGM was among the 10 universities that hosted a public lecture, which focused on leadership and was presented by BCA Vice President Director, Armand W. Hartono. Moreover, the BCA Berbagi Ilmu program offers student banking tours to various BCA branch offices and organizes beauty classes for people with disabilities.
“We are committed to continually contributing to education in Indonesia. Alongside the Bakti BCA program, we aim to deliver exceptional services that improve access and quality for students, teachers, and educational institutions. Thus, we hope that our contribution can create a highly competitive young generation that is ready to face global challenges and the demographic bonus in 2030,” concluded BCA Cash Management EVP Aniek Susilowati.
