Jakarta, 13 December 2024 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), through its Bakti BCA program, has partnered with the Indonesian National Defence Forces (TNI) to deliver humanitarian aid to the victims of the Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki eruption in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
The aid was symbolically handed over at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, on Thursday (12/12). The event was attended by BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono, Assistant C-in-C for Territory Affairs of Indonesian National Defence Forces Major General Novi Helmy Prasetya, BCA EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn, and other officials.
BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono stated, “BCA's heart goes out to the people of Flores and the surrounding areas. For us, a natural disaster is not only a test of the resilience of those affected, but also a test of our solidarity as a nation. Together with the TNI, BCA is providing support to the people of East Flores during this difficult time following the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki. We believe this collaboration will expedite the delivery of aid to the victims. We hope this small effort can inspire the community to recover and rebuild.”
The collaboration between BCA and TNI reflects a spirit of mutual cooperation in the efficient aid distribution. The TNI's extensive network and command structure throughout the country is expected to minimize the time it takes for aid to reach those in need. The aid includes emergency tents, clean or bottled water, rice, baby and infant formula, medicines, vitamins, and other basic necessities, totaling IDR 500 million.
“TNI, in collaboration with BCA, is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to assisting the community, particularly those impacted by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki. This collaboration aims to ease the burden of our colleagues affected by the disaster. TNI are committed to ensuring that the affected communities receive the assistance they need, from logistical support to other essential needs,” said Assistant C-in-C for Territory Affairs of Indonesian National Defence Forces Major General Novi Helmy Prasetya.
Through this synergy with TNI, BCA remains committed to being present in the community, especially in emergency situations. This initiative is part of the Bakti BCA program, which embodies the values of social care and the spirit of mutual cooperation, reflecting the company’s responsibility to create a better life for society.
