Starting on August 17, 2025, QRIS Cross Border will be available for transactions in Japan using the Japanese Yen (JPY).
Previously, QRIS Cross Border was already available in three countries, namely Thailand (Baht, THB), Malaysia (Ringgit, MYR), and Singapore (Singapore Dollar, SGD).
With the addition of the Japanese Yen to QRIS Cross Border, traveling, shopping, or enjoying cuisine in Japan will become more convenient and comfortable.
Simply scan the QR code at Japanese merchants using myBCA or BCA mobile app, and the payment transaction will automatically be converted from Yen to Rupiah.
QRIS Cross Border is a cross-border payment system using QR codes. This feature allows you to make transactions abroad directly from myBCA or BCA mobile app without the need to exchange cash or carry multiple cards. Transactions can be completed in just a few seconds.
