In regards to Bank of Indonesia regulation No 23/6/PBI/2021 ABOUT PAYMENT SERVICES PROVIDER, service provider or goods provider (merchants) are prohibited to charge additional surcharge to the user (consumer).
Surcharge is an additional fee for card transactions, both credit and debit cards, charged by merchants to consumers. Consumers are directly charged an additional fee with specified percentage of the total price, making them pay more than the original price of the purchased product.
