Serang, May 18, 2026 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) once again held the BCA Berbagi Ilmu (BBI) program to support the development of human resources in Indonesia. This time, BBI made its debut at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (Untirta) in Serang, Banten, on Monday (May 18, 2026).
BCA Director Hendra Tanumihardja served as a speaker before more than 1,000 students, presenting the theme “The Art of Falling: Ukemi as a Lesson for Life and Career.” During the event, Hendra encouraged students not to fear facing failure in the pursuit of success.
Drawing parallels to the philosophy of Ukemi in martial arts, Hendra explained that the younger generation needs to view failure as an opportunity to rise again. Moreover, in today’s increasingly competitive and dynamic environment, the ability to persevere and adapt is essential.
“The journey to success is never free from failure. The younger generation must be brave and resilient to face such failures,” said Hendra Tanumihardja.
Hendra explained that the Ukemi philosophy is also in line with what is implemented at BCA. This philosophy also serves as a guiding principle for building resilience in the face of various challenges, competition, and economic conditions, ensuring that the company continues to grow, develop, and progress.
He further emphasized that the BBI program is a manifestation of BCA’s commitment and concern for the world of education, by providing students with the opportunity to learn directly from BCA practitioners and leaders.
“BCA’s presence at Untirta serves as a bridge for students in their transition from the academic world to becoming resilient professionals,” explained Hendra Tanumihardja.
BCA’s EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility, Hera F. Haryn, added that the implementation of the BBI program is a reflection of the fact that education is the best investment for a nation. The hope is that the BBI program will not merely share theory but will prepare students for the dynamic world of work.
“We are also opening up broader opportunities for collaboration with universities, given that the implementation of previous programs has created positive opportunities for collaboration for both parties, particularly regarding financial services,” said Hera.
In line with this, Hera revealed on the same occasion that BCA, under the Bakti BCA umbrella, also donated a Bakti BCA Solar Panel Charging Station. One of the functions of this facility is to provide the Untirta academic community with access to clean solar energy for charging their devices.
Hera stated that this initiative is part of BCA’s support for the green campus initiative aimed at reducing emissions. She also hopes that the presence of the Bakti BCA Solar Panel Charging Station will help raise awareness regarding the adoption of eco-friendly solutions among the entire academic community at Untirta. Additionally, this innovation is expected to support teaching and learning activities.
“The Bakti BCA Solar Panel Charging Station at Untirta is designed as a gazebo, so students can carry out their daily activities there—from studying and discussing to simply socializing,” said Hera.
By 2025, BCA had built two Bakti BCA Solar Panel Charging Stations, one at Diponegoro University (UNDIP) and the other at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). This represents a strategic step by BCA to foster awareness and encourage the adoption of eco-friendly solutions among the younger generation.
