Salatiga, 6 November 2023 - In the spirit of #CanDoGeneration, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) arranged a public lecture as a part of BCA Berbagi Ilmu, in which BCA directors presented their insights. The lecture was held at Satya Wacana Christian University (UKSW) in Salatiga and was delivered by BCA Vice President Director, Armand W. Hartono. This event drew an audience of about 1,600 students from UKSW and centered around the topic of “Survival Leadership.”
BCA Berbagi Ilmu is part of BCA’s commitment in supporting Indonesia’s pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This program was initially launched on National Education Day, 2 May, at University of Indonesia (UI). It then extended to other universities, such as University of North Sumatera (USU), Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Airlangga University (UNAIR), and Hasanuddin University (UNHAS). Now, this public lecture series returns to UKSW with the same overarching goal, to promote educational and financial literacy equality among the younger generation. This initiative is especially crucial as it aims to prepare this demographic for the impending peak of the Demographic Bonus in 2030.
Apart from Armand W. Hartono who became the speaker at this public lecture, UKSW Vice Rector for Cooperation and Alumni Affairs Yafet Y.W. Rissy, S.H., M.Si., LLM, Ph.D. (AFHEA) was also present and delivered a speech. Additionally, UKSW Vice Rector for Finance, Infrastructure, and Planning Priyo Hari Adi, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Ak attended the lecture as a representative of the UKSW rectorate.
BCA Vice President Director Armand W. Hartono stated “Survivability is the ability to adapt. Why should leaders adapt quickly? Because everyone is watching whether their leader is willing to change or not. If the leader is not willing to change, it’s futile. Don’t be afraid of competition because competition will enhance your competence to survive.”
As we all know, this modern era is filled with uncertainty and constantly evolving challenges. To face these challenges, it is undoubtedly necessary to have strategies and leadership skills to remain relevant and successfully navigate this ever-changing era.
“At BCA, our survival experience involves listening to our customers and our team. The feedback we receive encourages us to continuously innovate in meeting customer needs. By summarizing and learning to listen to the needs of our surroundings, this can be a way to survive not only for BCA but for all of humanity,” added Armand.
“We want to express our gratitude to BCA for their collaboration with UKSW, particularly for their valuable contributions in sharing real-world insights with our students. As we look ahead, our goal is to maintain and strengthen the partnership between UKSW and a range of organizations, BCA included, to ensure that students continue to benefit from high-quality, up-to-date insights that remain in tune with the latest developments,” explained UKSW Vice Rector for Cooperation and Alumni Affairs Yafet Y.W. Rissy, S.H., M.Si., LLM, Ph.D. (AFHEA).
BCA EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn added, “BCA Berbagi Ilmu is specially designed to support inclusive education for the advancement of human resource excellence in Indonesia. BCA believes that the best investment for the younger generation is in the form of education and self-capacity development. Therefore, BCA is committed to continuously supporting them so that they will become the #CanDoGeneration in the future.”
