Improving Quality of Education in Public Universities, BCA Holds Institut Teknologi Bandung Staff Training

Bandung, 14 December 2016 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to support the development and improvement of human resource quality in Indonesia. After previously presenting Bakti BCA Scholarships to select accomplished students from Bandung Institute of Technology in the amount of Rp 300 million, today BCA conducts a soft skill training and development for ITB’s staff. The program selected Serving Across Generation as its theme and aimed to improve quality of education through improved staff’s professionalism on performance and service.

Head of BCA Main Branch Office (KCU) Dago Linda Yulia Tanti and Chairman of Student Organizations ITB Sandro Mihradi attended the opening of the training program at BCA KCU Dago Office, Bandung, Wednesday (14/12). Linda noted that the ITB staff training aimed to broaden the knowledge of its staff about innovative generation, how to interact and collaborate with them as well as to inspire the staff to provide excellence service. This staff training also aims to raise awareness to improve the quality of work, because the staff is also a role model for students and also influence students in thinking, working, and behaving positively while studying at the university.

"In this training program, BCA intends to educate the increasingly competitive challenges of human resources, especially in the era of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Therefore, the role of staff and educators at university level is crucial in promoting the quality of education in Indonesia and preparing students more effectively, in particular, prior to entering the highly competitive world of work," says Linda.

The ITB staff training and development is an implementation of Bakti BCA Smart Solution pillar. In this training, the staff are equipped with a series of tips on how to provide excellent service to their students so that they will be able to obtain optimal learning and education during classes. The training is expected to encourage staff to have work ethos, motivation, creativity, innovation and other skills required to prepare the students during their study to enter the working world.

BCA's commitment to support human resource quality improvement in Indonesia is not only reflected through soft skills training and development for lecturers and staff, but also for accomplished students of ITB. Last November, for example, BCA provided Public Lecture themed "Future Banking Trends and Indonesia Human Resource Readiness"  to 400 ITB students. The Public Lecture presented President Director of BCA Jahja Setiaatmadja as the keynote speaker. On that occasion, BCA also donated Bakti BCA scholarship in the amount of Rp 300 million as a form of support to ITB select accomplished students of the academic year 2016-2017 in order to gain maximum knowledge without worrying about financial problems.
