Singapura, 1 September 2016 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) achieved yet another mark at the Asian level in Finance Asia Country Awards for Achievement 2016 BCA by winning two awards as Best Bank in Indonesia and Best Asian Bank. The award is given to companies in the banking sector with the best company performance in the country and Asia.
BCA President Jahja Setiaatmadja and BCA Deputy President Director Armand W. Hartono received the award on 1 September 2016 in Singapore. Award winners were assessed based on the achievement and company performance that successfully address challenges of the current economic banking conditions.
"The awards were a form of appreciation for the Bank because it recognized BCA as a national bank that shows the best performance not only at the national level, but also at the level of Asia. This achievement can only be achieved with the hard work of the entire BCA family in applying precautionary principles and taking advantage of existing business opportunities. We continue to hold our commitment to deliver the best to our customers," Jahja noted.
Previously, BCA reported a net profit increase by 12.1% to Rp 9.6 trillion in the first half of 2016 from Rp 8.5 trillion in the same period the previous year. In addition, BCA operating income, consisting of net interest income and other operating incomes, grew 15.5% to Rp 26.1 trillion in the first semester of 2016 from Rp 22.6 trillion in the first half of 2015.
This year, BCA once again affirmed its excellence in the field of banking transactions in developing banking products and services for its customers. BCA focused on customers’ development needs for practical and fast services, resulting in products such as e-money service Sakuku, launched in September 2015, and Sakuku Plus, launched on the 59th anniversary of BCA in February 2016.
