BCA Received ISO 20000-1:2011 Certification

  • IT Service Quality received ISO 20000-1:2011 Service Management System certification

Jakarta, 17 November 2017 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues its commitment to continuously improve service quality to its customers, including through improving the quality of information technology. This is realized through ISO certification received by IT Serive Management work unit, namely ISO 20000-1:2011 from PT Intertek Utama Services, concerning Service Management System.

The ISO certification is directly submitted by Country Managing Director of PT Intertek Utama Services Jose Richard Gamo and President Director PT Lemti Unindo Inovasi Muhammad Hadi Cahyono to Deputy President Director of BCA Armand Wahyudi Hartono and Senior Executive Vice President of Information Technology of BCA Hermawan Thendean at BCA Tower, Friday (17/11).

Armand said, ”BCA is continuously taking various steps and efforts to improve the capacity and capabilities of information technology systems. They are solely for the development of a more sophisticated distribution network and serving the increased transactions as well as the increasingly complex and growing business needs. This has led BCA to continuously improve service through our work standards certification process, in order to be internationally recognized. We are very grateful for the hardwork from the entire team, and today we have once more received recognition through ISO certification.”

Armand further explained that the IT Service Management team plays strategic roles, including handling the operational administration of information technology management and aligning IT services with user needs.  Given its vital function, BCA applies for certification from an accredited agency to assess service quality of the IT Service Managament work unit.

ISO 20000-1:2011 is the first internationally recognized information technology service management system (ITSM). This standard is based on and intended to replace the British Standards BS 15000. It is first published in December 2005 and similar to its predecessor, BS 15000, was originally developed to describe the best practice guidelines contained within the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework even though it also supports the framework and other ITSM approaches.

With this certification, it is also expected to increase customer confidence, service process quality assurance, increased employee’s productivity, motivation, morale and performance, efficiency improvements, etc. “Our certification is an effort to improve information technology governance in order to support and improve service to various BCA work units. This will certainly lead to improvements in quality and fluency to customers in general,” Armand concluded.
