Kuburaya, November 23, 2021 – Supports for disaster victims in West Kalimantan continues to flow, one of them is from PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BCA). Recently, several areas in Kalimantan after heavy rainfall were hit by floods. Extreme rains flushed several areas in Kalimantan caused the Kapuas River and Melawi River to overflow. In response to this condition, BCA through Bakti BCA Corporate Social Responsibility program distributes humanitarian donations to flood-affected communities in the area.
The donation will be distributed through two aid post points, namely Kapuas Sintang University and the Sintang BUSERA (Quick Fire Response) of Fire Agency (BPK). Donations are handed over by KOC (Head of Operational Offices) of BCA Kubu Raya Sucipto Kawedar through the Vice Chancellor II of Kapuas Sintang University Kaja S.Sos, M.Si, and the Secretary of the BUSERA Sintang Fire Agency (BPK) Edy Kurnia on Thursday (11/18) to be distributed directly to the community affected by the floods in Sintang.
“We, the entire BCA family, are deeply concerned about the floods that hit regions in Kalimantan. In the midst of the pandemic that is not over yet, this disaster must be a difficult test for the community. It is our collective responsibility and BCA as a banking institution that is close to the community together distributes our love and support to the affected communities," said Inge Setiawati, EVP CSR of BCA.
“The form of donations delivered by Bakti BCA to affected communities are 500 food packages distributed through two aid post points. Humanitarian action involving local community organizations is the right initiative to be able to directly touch people in need,” said Eduard, Head of BCA KCU (Main Branch Office) Kuburaya.
“The support provided by Bakti BCA is expected to relieve the burden on our brothers and sisters who have been affected by the disaster. We both pray for the safety of the surrounding community and hope that in the future the community can quickly recover to return to their normal activities. We hope that the support we have distributed could be useful for many people," Inge concluded.
