Jakarta, 22 October 2026 –PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) once again brought Bakti BCA tourism to the international stage through the Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair (WITF) 2026. This reflects BCA’s commitment to expanding market access for its assisted villages to the global market, particularly through various international travel platforms across Asia and Europe, and Africa, during the event held from October 15 – 17 2026.
Held at Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) Kemayoran, Jakarta, the event attracted tourism industry players to visit the Desa Bakti BCA booth. By the end of the event, 64 industry players had engaged in active discussions on potential collaborations to expand opportunities for the assisted villages to become global tourist destinations. These efforts are expected to generate potential visits from around 124 tourists and potential revenue of IDR242 million for the villages.
BCA EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn said the event serves as an opportunity to raise international tourists’ awareness of the villages assisted by Bakti BCA. This is in line with the government’s vision to strengthen the growth of the tourism sector through promotion, market development, and the expansion of business networks.
“Market access is a critical element to drive the development of Desa Bakti BCA. We recognize that broader market access serves as a gateway to accelerate tourism growth in Indonesia. Through our participation in WITF 2026 and direct engagements with dozens of international buyers, we aim to unlock tangible and sustainable business opportunities for Desa Bakti BCA,” said Hera.
Based on data from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as of September 2026, there are 6,396 tourism villages in Indonesia. This highlights the potential of tourism villages to be empowered as a source of national foreign exchange revenue, strengthening the local economy and improving community welfare. Through the MSME and Desa Bakti BCA pillars, the company focuses on two primary programs, namely human resources and institutional capacity enhancement (capacity building), and the expansion of market access through promotions and the establishment of sustainable partnership networks.
BCA invited 11 of its assisted villages to promote their tourism packages and regional richness at WITF 2026, including Kampung Adat Sijunjung in West Sumatra, Desa Wisata Dayun in Riau, Desa Wisata Limbongan in Belitung, Bukit Peramun in Belitung, Wisata Wayang Desa Wukirsari in Yogyakarta, Desa Wisata Edelweiss Wonokitri, Desa Wisata Tamansari, Desa Wisata Taro in Bali, Desa Wisata Bilebante in West Nusa Tenggara, Kampung Adat Prai Ijing/Tebara in East Nusa Tenggara, and Desa Wisata Pulau Derawan in East Kalimantan. These tourism packages are crafted to offer experiences rich in culture and stunning rural natural beauty, serving as a magnet for international tourists.
Bakti BCA’s efforts to expand overseas market access have contributed to the income received by Desa Bakti BCA. In 2024-2025, the income received by Desa Bakti BCA through overseas market access expansion reached IDR536 million. In 2026, market access expansion continued through participation in ITB Berlin, recording a potential value of IDR1.9 billion.
Meanwhile, BCA’s contribution to the income of tourism villages and MSMEs in general reached IDR2.22 billion in H1 2026. In detail, the contribution to the MSME sector amounted to IDR1.92 billion, and to tourism packages amounted to IDR301 million.
“In running our business, BCA believes in the principle of creating shared value. BCA believes that as a company, we grow and develop together with the community, so it is important to consistently uphold our commitment to delivering social impact for the people of Indonesia,” Hera concluded.
