Jakarta, 26 October 2026 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) reaffirms its commitment to empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to become increasingly competitive. This dedication is reflected in the continuation of its free halal certification workshop program for MSME players across two locations in October 2026, Cibubur and Pontianak.
The free halal certification event at the Cibubur Main Branch Office (KCU) on 13 October 2026 attracted 22 participants. Subsequently, a similar session was held at KCU Pontianak on 21 October 2026, drawing 39 attendees. During the workshop, participants were also provided with banking solutions, including account opening and QRIS registration.
BCA EVP of Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn stated that BCA provides this free halal certification facility to strengthen MSME capacity, enabling them to become more resilient, competitive, and capable of expanding their market reach. Furthermore, halal certification is a vital aspect for MSMEs to boost consumer confidence.
"Recognizing this importance, BCA consistently organizes free halal certification workshops to support MSMEs in meeting halal standards and growing their businesses. Through this initiative, we hope more MSME players will gain access to halal certification, enabling them to enhance their product value and capture broader market opportunities," said Hera.
Earlier in 2026, BCA held free halal certification workshops at KCU Kubu Raya, attended by 54 participants, and at KCU Tanjung Priok with 114 participants. This series of activities is part of BCA's ongoing efforts to expand access to halal certification for MSMEs across various regions.
Since its inception in 2023, BCA's free halal certification workshop program has reached 23 regencies and cities across 15 provinces. To date, the workshops have been attended by over 6,000 participants, with more than 4,000 halal certificates successfully issued.
Specifically in 2025, in addition to receiving free halal certificates, 400 participants also received the MSME Pillar Coaching Clinic and online Digital Marketing training from BCA's strategic partner Sinergi Kreatif Inovasi Indonesia (SKII), thereby increasing participants' understanding of products and markets by 28.5%.
Consistency in supporting access to halal certification for MSMEs has also led BCA to receive the Excellence in Advancing Access to Halal Certification for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) award from the Halal Product Guarantee Organizing Agency (BPJPH). The award serves as an appreciation for BCA's efforts through the Bakti BCA program in providing mentoring and facilitating halal certification for business actors in various regions.
"BCA is committed to continuously supporting MSME development through various initiatives tailored to the needs of business actors, including the facilitation of halal certification. We hope this program will help more MSMEs comply with halal certification requirements, enhance their product quality and competitiveness, and expand business opportunities amid an increasingly competitive market. Going forward, BCA will continue to drive initiatives that provide added value to the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia," concluded Hera.
