Expanding Global Market Access, BCA Hosts International Travel Agents and Tour Operators at 2 Fostered Tourism Villages

Jakarta, 22 October 2026 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), under the umbrella of its Bakti BCA program, has once again reinforced its commitment to expanding international market access for its partner tourism villages. This commitment was realized through the Mega Familiarization Trip (Famtrip) held in two Desa Bakti BCA villages, Bukit Peramun in the Bangka Belitung Islands and Wisata Wayang Desa Wukirsari in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Targeting international Travel Agents and Tour Operators (TATO), the Mega Famtrip commenced at Bukit Peramun in Belitung on 13 October 2026 and continued at Wisata Wayang Desa Wukirsari in Yogyakarta on 19 October 2026. The program brought together 50 international travel agents and tour operators from countries including Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, Russia, Sweden, Greece, the United Kingdom, Italy, Croatia, the United States, Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and others. The initiative is expected to connect Desa Bakti BCA directly with the global tourism industry network, build relationships with potential travelers, and introduce its tour packages to international markets.

BCA EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn said, “BCA’s commitment to fostering regional economic growth through Desa Bakti BCA is carried out holistically, spanning human resources capacity building, institutional strengthening, and support for promotion and market access expansion. Once the internal quality and capacity of villagers are in place, providing market access becomes a crucial stage to ensure that rural tourism potential is connected precisely with the needs of the international market.”

The two Desa Bakti BCA destinations featured in the Mega Famtrip offer unique experiences rooted in nature, culture, and sustainability innovation:

  • Desa Wisata Bukit Peramun, Belitung (Bangka Belitung Islands)
Located within the Belitong UNESCO Global Geopark, Bukit Peramun offers a lush conservation forest, ancient granite rocks, and the rare endemic Tarsius bancanus (Pelilean). The village has introduced a “Digital Forest” innovation based on interactive technology, allowing visitors to learn about biodiversity by scanning QR codes. This combination of nature conservation and technology creates an education-based tourism attraction that is ready to be marketed on the global stage. Visitors are also introduced to Belitung’s cultural heritage, including the Sekapur Sirih Dance and the Bedulang dining tradition, both of which are still preserved by the local community today.
  • Wisata Wayang Desa Wukirsari, Yogyakarta
Wisata Wayang Desa Wukirsari is an association and craft center for wayang kulit (leather shadow puppets), managed by the local community in Wukirsari Village, Imogiri District, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. It offers an authentic experience of art and cultural heritage passed down through generations. Visitors are invited to explore the craft of Tatah Sungging Wayang Kulit in Pucung Hamlet, and the program concludes with a taste of Yogyakarta’s signature dishes, including Gudeg Manggar and Ayam Ingkung. Through a direct visit initiated by BCA, village managers can promote this authentic experience directly to international tourism industry players. Wisata Wayang Desa Wukirsari is part of Desa Wisata Wukirsari, which was recognized globally as one of the Best Tourism Villages by UN Tourism in 2024.

Through the Desa Bakti BCA pillar, the company focuses on two main programs, human resources and institutional capacity building, and market access expansion through promotion and the establishment of sustainable partnership networks.

Bakti BCA’s efforts to expand access to overseas markets have contributed to the income received by Desa Bakti BCA. In 2024-2025, income generated by Desa Bakti BCA through overseas market access expansion reached Rp536 million. In 2026, market access expansion continued through participation in ITB Berlin, recording a potential value of Rp1.9 billion.

Meanwhile, BCA’s contribution to the income of tourism villages and MSMEs overall was recorded at Rp2.22 billion in H1 2026. In detail, the contribution to the MSME sector amounted to Rp1.92 billion and to tourism packages amounted to Rp301 million.

“In running its business, BCA firmly upholds the principle of creating shared value. We believe that the company grows and develops together with the community. This series of activities is a tangible demonstration of BCA’s commitment to driving the national tourism sector to create a multiplier effect, improve community welfare, and strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global tourism ecosystem,” Hera added.
