Cuit Babywear: The Story of a Children's Clothing MSME from Bandung, Rising Above Pressure and Leveling Up with BCA

Bandung, 21 October 2026 – Building a baby and children's clothing business requires more than just understanding the products the market demands. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) players also need to ensure effective cash flow management, maintain strong working capital, and secure a steady supply of raw materials to achieve sustainable business growth.

These fundamentals have been central to Cuit Babywear’s journey as it scales its business. Through MSME credit facilities and the empowerment ecosystem of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), the Bandung-based children’s apparel brand has strengthened its operations, expanded its supply chain capacity, and achieved significant revenue growth in recent years.

Director and Owner of Cuit Babywear Hans Saputra revealed that he started the business in 2016 after astutely spotting a steady demand for baby clothing that was independent of fleeting trends. Relying primarily on online sales during its early days, Cuit Babywear experienced rapid growth, which prompted the company to aggressively expand into physical retail stores in 2021. However, in 2022, the company faced liquidity pressure due to expanding too quickly without adequate operational governance and supply chain management in place.

“At the time, I was overconfident and rushed into expansion. We had to relearn the business from the ground up, from organizing our supply chain and marketing strategy to building healthier corporate governance,” Hans said in Bandung on Tuesday (13/10).

As it worked to rebuild its business fundamentals, Cuit Babywear began tapping into BCA’s MSME financing facilities in 2022. This sustainable business credit gave the company the financial headroom to secure raw materials, upgrade its infrastructure, and strengthen its marketing strategy.

“With the support of BCA’s business credit, we had the room to make improvements calmly and methodically. We chose BCA’s MSME credit for its competitive interest rates, the convenience of its extensive branch network, and BCA’s well-established service quality. This facility has been vital in keeping our business running smoothly,” Hans added.

Beyond capital support, the company has also felt the benefits of BCA's mentoring programs, gaining opportunities to expand its network and participate in events such as the BCA UMKM Fest and BCA Bangga Lokal. Cuit Babywear consistently ranked among the top-selling stores in online sales during both the 2025 and 2026 BCA UMKM Fest events.

Driven by highly refined operational management and robust liquidity, Cuit Babywear is now reaping the rewards of its strategic initiatives. The company recorded a sales surge of approximately 100% in 2023, followed by consecutive growth of around 200% in both 2024 and 2025. In 2026, Cuit Babywear is targeting a steady growth rate approaching 100% with its expansive distribution network that has successfully penetrated major cities across Java, primarily Jabodetabek area, and into the outer islands.

BCA EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn stated, “BCA recognizes that MSMEs are the backbone of the Indonesian economy. Cuit Babywear's story of resilience reflects the company's commitment in implementing the three main pillars of MSME empowerment: Mentorship, Payment Infrastructure Provision, and Financing Solutions. We are grateful that our support serves as a catalyst for MSMEs to sustainably level up.”

BCA's commitment to financing support for SMEs is clearly reflected in its credit disbursement figures within the segment, which grew by 6.9% to reach Rp134 trillion as of July 2026. This achievement significantly outpaces the banking industry's average SME credit growth of 1.2% YoY, according to data from the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) during the same period.

Beyond financing, BCA provides comprehensive support for MSME players across Indonesia. Additionally, 1,829 MSMEs have participated in business training programs supported by 43 learning modules and 52 hours of training, as well as mentoring initiatives such as export training, financial literacy, and business digitalization to help local products reach broader markets.
