Jakarta, 7 October 2026 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has once again reaffirmed its support for Indonesia’s younger generation to excel on the international stage. At the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, two swimmers who received student-athlete scholarships from Bakti BCA, Liquor Harrison Andoko and Samuel Maxson Septionus, set a national record as part of Team Indonesia.
Liquor Harrison Andoko broke the national record in the men’s 200m freestyle. Liquor clocked a time of 1:49.89, breaking the previous national record of 1:50.35 set by Joe Aditya Kurniawan at the 2024 PON. Additionally, alongside Samuel Maxson Septionus and other teammates, Liquor also broke the national record in the men’s 4×100m freestyle relay during the final, clocking a time of 3:20.84, surpassing the previous record set earlier that morning in the 2026 Asian Games qualifying round with a time of 3:21.48.
BCA EVP of Corporate Communications & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn stated that this achievement is proof of the progress in Indonesian swimming at the Asian level, as well as the result of BCA’s ongoing support for high-achieving young athletes through the Bakti BCA program.
“BCA is proud of Liquor and Maxson’s achievements in setting a national record at a major event like the 2026 Asian Games. Breaking a national record at the Asian level is no easy feat, and it demonstrates their hard work and discipline. Through the Bakti BCA program, we aim to provide opportunities for Indonesia’s younger generation to develop their full potential, both academically and in sports. We hope both athletes will continue to inspire Indonesia’s youth to dare to dream big and excel on the world stage,” said Hera.
This support was felt firsthand by both athletes, who are currently studying at the University of Indianapolis in the United States. At the 2026 Asian Games, Liquor not only competed in the event where he set the national record but also participated in the men’s 200m Individual Medley. Liquor expressed his gratitude for the results he achieved.
“I’m very grateful to have broken the national record in the 200m freestyle and the 4×100m freestyle relay alongside my teammates. Although I didn’t win a medal this time, this record serves as a major motivation to keep improving. “Thank you to Bakti BCA for giving me the opportunity to pursue my studies while building a career as an athlete, and also to my coach, team, and family for their constant support,” said Liquor.
Maxson shares that same sense of pride. In addition to contributing to the national record in the 4×100m freestyle relay, Maxson competed in the men’s 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, and 100m freestyle events. For Maxson, participating in the Asian Games was a valuable experience in his career journey.
“Being able to compete at the Asian Games and help break the national record with the relay team was an extraordinary experience for me. I’m proud to have fought alongside my teammates to represent Indonesia. Thank you to Bakti BCA for supporting me in pursuing my education while continuing to develop my career as a swimmer. This is just the beginning, and I’ll keep training even harder to make Indonesia proud at future events,” said Maxson.
Through the Bakti BCA program, BCA provides student-athlete scholarships to Liquor Harrison Andoko and Samuel Maxson Septionus, enabling both to pursue their education at the University of Indianapolis, United States, while continuing to pursue their careers as swimmers.
