Jakarta, September 22, 2026 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to strengthen its commitment to supporting the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia by assisting them in obtaining halal certification. In recognition of these efforts, BCA was awarded the “Excellence in Advancing Access to Halal Certification for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs)” award from the Indonesian Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) at the 2026 Indonesia Halal Awards.
This award recognizes BCA’s consistent efforts in providing guidance and facilitating halal certification for MSME operators across various regions. Through the Bakti BCA program, this support is provided to help business owners meet their certification needs while enhancing their understanding and capacity to grow their businesses.
BCA Vice President Director John Kosasih stated that easy access to halal certification is a strategic element in enhancing the competitiveness and added value of local MSME products. According to data from the Indonesian Ministry of MSMEs, the average revenue of business owners increased by 8.5% after obtaining halal certification.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to BPJPH RI for this recognition. For BCA, halal certification is not merely about regulatory compliance; it is a vital tool for building consumer trust, expanding market reach, and driving the sustainable growth of MSMEs. BCA is committed to continuing to support business owners so they can become more competitive and penetrate broader markets,” said John Kosasih.
This commitment is consistently demonstrated through the Halal Certification Workshop program, which has been running since 2023. As part of the sustainability pillar of Bakti BCA, this program not only focuses on halal certification but also provides end-to-end support. Business owners are equipped with capacity-building training based on three pillars—the business owner, the market, and the product—as well as the Business Model Canvas. By 2026, BCA will have facilitated approximately 5,000 halal certificates for MSMEs spread across 40 provinces in Indonesia.
Through these efforts, BCA continues to foster the creation of an increasingly inclusive and sustainable MSME ecosystem. This program is also expected to address the needs of SME operators while supporting the government’s efforts regarding the first phase of mandatory halal certification, which will take effect in October 2026.
“For BCA, supporting SMEs is part of our commitment to creating a sustainable positive impact on society and the national economy,” stated John Kosasih.
