Genera-Z Berbakti Finale Ends, Cinta Laura: Contestants Must Be Prepared to Face the Situation in the Village

Jakarta, 19 July 2026 – The final round of Genera-Z Berbakti 2026, the call for proposals program for students from Bakti BCA, has been completed. One of the Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 panelists, Cinta Laura Kiehl, gave insight to all participants so that they are ready for anything, both on stage and when they are in the village later.

Entertainer and sociopreneur Cinta Laura Kiehl frequently advises all finalists to convey their ideas effectively during presentations. To do so, they need strong self-confidence and thorough preparation for unexpected situations.

“Every student in a group must have a shared understanding of the material they present on stage. It would be a shame if, when asked questions, they don't understand their own presentation because they are dependent on other members of their group. They must also be able to transform complex ideas into simple ones. The best presentations come when everyone in the audience understands, regardless of their background,” said Cinta Laura.

The performances of the two teams that met in the final round of Genera-Z Berbakti 2026, the University of Indonesia (UI) and BINUS University, reflected Cinta Laura's message. UI and BINUS University competed for the opportunity to travel to Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village, Tomohon. In front of the panelists, the two teams took different approaches to maximizing the potential of Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village, from tourism and the local economy to cultural regeneration.

Despite having seen the performances of the six previous teams, the UI and BINUS University representatives still felt anxious and nervous as they presented to the panelists and answered their questions. This was one of the sentiments expressed by Ria, a representative of the Aksara Team from BINUS University. “I was quite surprised that UI's presentation was quite good, and their public speaking was also good. So we felt quite nervous. But we weren't too nervous or afraid; we just stayed relaxed,” said Ria.

Irfan, a representative from the UI Katalis team, has a different view. He believes the most important aspect of their program is addressing real-world problems in rural communities, not just research. “Listening to rural communities is crucial. We serve. Therefore, we must listen and learn about their challenges, not just rely on data,” Irfan said.

Tri Mumpuni, a social scientist and entrepreneur and one of the Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 panelists, believes that what students need most is competence to be able to implement programs and bring about positive impacts optimally.

“For me, the most important thing is that they have people-centered competency and a true understanding of community-based development. But don't forget that students must also possess the competency of sincerity, because what they face there is not as easy as they imagine. They must have sufficient resilience, toughness, and integrity,” said Tri Mumpuni.

Of the eight finalists for Genera-Z Berbakti 2026, four selected teams will depart immediately for four Bakti BCA-supported tourism villages to implement their presented programs. The four tourism villages are Terong Creative Tourism Village in Belitung Regency; Gunung Padang Site Tourism Village in Cianjur Regency; Patakbanteng Tourism Village in Wonosobo Regency; and Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village in Tomohon City.

“I believe that the Genera-Z Berbakti participants have developed a well-thought-out plan based on sound ideas. The students have also proven they have strong character and the skills needed to contribute to each of the Bakti BCA-assisted tourism villages. Therefore, BCA hopes that their programs and ideas can make a real contribution to the community,” said Hera F. Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA.
