Competition in the 2026 Genera-Z Berbakti Competition is Getting Fiercer, Nicholas Saputra: The Finalists' Ideas Are Interesting and Spark Curiosity

Jakarta, 11 July 2026 – Competition in the 2026 Genera-Z Berbakti is heating up. The final round of the call for proposals program for students from Bakti BCA presented a competition of ideas and thoughts from eight finalists from various universities in Indonesia.

Nicholas Saputra, the BCA Bakti Ambassador and panelist for Genera-Z Berbakti 2026, stated that the program's finalists had a variety of compelling ideas. They generally presented their ideas and concepts captivatingly to the panelists, including through props representing the program plans for their respective target regions.

"The various ideas and presentations of the 2026 Genera-Z Berbakti finalists were quite interesting. For me, this sparked curiosity about how the proposed programs will be implemented in the field. We, the panelists, are confident that all the Genera-Z Berbakti finalists can carry out their plans on site as long as they maintain consistency and adapt to the conditions encountered in their target villages," said Nicholas.

The quality of the Genera-Z Berbakti finalists was evident, among other things, in the round between teams from Airlangga University (UNAIR) and Cenderawasih University (UNCEN). Both teams pursued the theme of village empowerment through women as the primary drivers of change. However, they relied on different strategies.

The UNAIR and UNCEN teams' strategic battle was evident during the presentation and Q&A session with the panelists in the final round of Genera-Z Berbakti 2026. Eli, one of the LESTARI team representatives from UNCEN, admitted to being incredibly nervous during the presentation. "During the presentation, I stopped because I was so nervous. Finally, I stopped to calm down and then continued the presentation," Eli said.

Sam, a member of the Amerta Pertiwi team from UNAIR, faced a similar challenge. He struggled to answer a question from one of the panelists. "When Cinta Laura asked a question, it was really hard for me to maneuver my answer to a simpler one," Sam said.

According to Tri Mumpuni, a scientist and social entrepreneur who was one of the panelists, one of the key considerations in the assessment in the final round of Genera-Z Berbakti was the alignment of a solid idea and the ease of executing the idea.

"Students must be able to formulate ways to respond to social issues into concrete activities that can be implemented at the village level. They deserve to be called a generation with a way of thinking, sufficient intellectual capacity, and great empathy, and then, if they can fulfill these requirements, they can produce real work," said Puni.

Four of the eight finalists of the 2026 Genera-Z Berbakti program will have the opportunity to implement their ideas in four tourism villages fostered by Bakti BCA. The four tourism villages are Terong Creative Tourism Village in Belitung Regency; Gunung Padang Site Tourism Village in Cianjur Regency; Patakbanteng Tourism Village in Wonosobo Regency; and Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village in Tomohon City.

Behind this event, there is a great hope that Generation-Z Berbakti can become a platform for a young generation who is not only intelligent, but also caring and brave enough to create innovations that have a real impact on society.

"We are truly impressed by the passion and dedication of the finalists. This demonstrates that the younger generation is not only capable of critical thinking but also possesses a deep sense of responsibility and is ready to take action to make a real impact. We hope this passion will continue to grow and bring about sustainable change," said Hera F. Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA.
