Belitung, 4 June 2026 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) under the Bakti BCA umbrella invited tourism industry players from Singapore and Malaysia to visit Bukit Peramun, Belitung through the familiarization trip activity held on Sunday (31/5). Bukit Peramun itself is one of the Bakti BCA villages.
Collaborating with Asosiasi Travel Agent Indonesia (Astindo), this activity is Bakti BCA’s efforts to widen the international tourist market access for Desa Bakti BCA as well as to improve the competitiveness of community-based tourism destinations. Moreover, Bukit Peramun offers a different experience considering that Belitung is dominated by beach tourism.
As is known, Bukit Peramum steadily shows an increase in popularity. This is reflected in the raise of international tourist visits from 387 people in 2023 to 485 people in 2025, as well as 1,356 domestic tourists in 2024 to 1,648 in 2025.
BCA EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn revealed that the activity serves as a means to bring together tourism village managers with international tourism industry players so they can directly identify the potential and tourism opportunities offered by Bukit Peramun.
Hera explained that Bukit Peramun has been managed by the community through Kelompok Hutan Kemasyarakatan (HKm) Arsel since 2006. The village has grown into a community-based tourism destination that has earned national recognition, including Green Gold ISTA 2019 award and the title of First Community-Based Digital Forest in Indonesia from MURI in 2023.
“By offering a pristine natural forest panorama, we believe that this village has a high potential in the international market if supported by the access and the right promotion. Through this program, we hope to open collaboration opportunities that will drive an increase in international tourist visit as well as giving a sustainable economic benefit to the local community without setting aside the conservation aspect and environmental preservation,” said Hera.
In this visit, participants were invited to explore the Bukit Peramun conservation forest on a trekking trail, learned about Belitung's unique herbs and endemic plants, and participated in a tree adoption activity. Participants were also introduced to the Virtual Assistance & Kenali Pohon (KePo) digital application, which helps visitors identify various types of flora in the area.
The journey then continued to several natural attractions such as Batu Kembar, Batu Ampar, and the summit of Bukit Peramun. Participants enjoyed panoramic sunsets from atop the peaks, sampled coffee and local cuisine, before participating in tarsier observation, an endemic species that is one of Belitung's ecotourism attractions.
"The presence of tourism industry players from Singapore and Malaysia in this activity is expected to be a concrete step towards opening up new market opportunities and strengthening Bukit Peramun's position as Indonesia's leading ecotourism destination on the global stage," Hera added.
