Belitung, 25 April 2026 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) and MANA Group are holding the myBCA Belitung Multisport Festival 2026, a multisport event that is being held in Belitung on 25-26 April 2026. This event invites more than 1.000 participants to experience first-hand the feeling of competing in endurance sports in a destination with one of the most beautiful beaches in Indonesia.
This sports festival has multiple categories, such as the Standard Distance Triathlon as the main category, a 2km Open Water Swim, running for 5K, 10K and Half Marathon (21K), and family-friendly events such as the Pho3nix Kids Run and Fun Run. Visitors can also enjoy the festive exhibition area that is open to the public, as well as join educational sessions.
BCA SVP Marketing Communication Adrian explains, these activities are not just the usual sports festival because it also brings additional experiences for participants and allows them to explore the beaches of Belitung and enjoy the beauty of nature.
As we know, Belitung has a stunning panorama of nature scenes and has become the host of several prestigious sporting events, including the Belitung Triathlon and the cycling race Tour de Belitong. This makes Belitung the perfect location for an era of new endurance sport in Indonesia.
"We also see the importance of this event as a way to invite the community to be more active and raise awareness about how important a healthy lifestyle is to keep a good quality of life. Aside from that, participants can also enjoy the natural beauty of Belitung, which is known for their beaches," Adrian said at the Sheraton Belitung Resort, Bangka Belitung Islands (24/4).
Adrian adds that BCA's participation in this event is also to support the government's efforts in improving the sports industry in Indonesia. The growing trends of the sports industry in the last few years has proven to contribute towards national economic growth.
"We believe this event is not just a way to enjoy sport hobbies and practice a healthy lifestyle, but also to push the local economy," Adrian said.
Similarly, Belitung Regent Djoni Alamsyah Hidayat revealed that sport events such as the myBCA Belitung Multisport Festival 2026 has the multiplier effect for the tourism sector in Belitung. In this way, the presence of tourists can help increase the occupancy rates in hotels and support small local businesses.
This sporting event has also boosted the number of visitors and tourists to Belitung. In 2025, there had been seven sporting events from a total of 69 tourism events in the Belitung area, and the community's interest continues to rise. There had been a total of 29.941 tourists in the year 2025. As many as 28.164 of them were domestic tourists and 1.776 were international tourists.
Alongside that, the BPS has noted the province of Bangka Belitung as having experienced relatively high economic growth in 2025. During that period, the economic growth of this province has increased 4,09% Year on Year (YoY), higher than the previous year which showed only 0,77% YoY.
"In 2025, the number of visitors began rising gradually, starting in April and reaching its peak in December. Last year, the amount of tourists visiting Belitung in December contributed to about 10,2% of the total number of visitors in all of 2025. Sporting events have become one of the incredible ways that we can push the economy while visiting more remote areas," Djoni Alamsyah Hidayat said.
The journey in myBCA Belitung Multisport Festival 2026 will start from Sheraton Belitung and head towards Tanjung Kelayang Beach. Participants will trace the beautiful beach shore towards the iconic Tanjung Tinggi, and then pass the peaceful Kelapa Beach and the historical Sijuk Mosque. This incredible route displays the beauty of nature as well as the rich culture of Belitung.
Regarding the triathlon, MANA Group Executive Chairman as well as triathlon legend and Ironman 4-time global winner Chris 'Macca' McCormack said that the triathlon is a challenging sporting event. Every triathlon venue offers a different challenge, and Belitung is no exception. Recognizing nature and the route through it will be one of the tips to competing well in the triathlon and other racing categories.
"The hot weather and dry air are commonly faced in races located in the beach, including in Belitung. Recognizing the weather and field conditions, resting well, and ensuring the readiness of your gear will be the key to a successful triathlon. Similar preparations will also be needed for the other categories. However, in the end, enjoy the process towards that finish line," said Macca.
