Aceh, 13 April 2026 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), through its corporate shared value (CSV) program under the Bakti BCA umbrella, held a training session titled “Belajar Cerdas Angka ala GASING (Gampang Asik dan Menyenangkan)” in Aceh Tamiang Regency. The program was attended by approximately 50 students and 10 teachers from 4 elementary schools (SD) in Aceh Tamiang, taking place from April 2–13, 2026, at the Auditorium of SMP 1 Kualasimpang, Aceh Tamiang.
This program was held as a manifestation of BCA’s commitment to assisting the recovery of disaster-affected communities in Aceh, particularly in the education sector. The training was designed as a strategic step to improve students’ numeracy skills, while also supporting the improvement of the numeracy index in the Aceh Tamiang region. In addition to conducting numeracy training using the GASING method, Bakti BCA also provided school supplies to all first-grade students participating in this activity.
“We have specifically introduced the GASING math training program in Aceh Tamiang to boost the children’s enthusiasm for learning and bring joy to them. We hope this program can help children not only catch up academically but also reignite their enthusiasm for learning and boost their self-confidence. We are confident that through collaboration among all parties, post-disaster recovery in Aceh Tamiang can proceed more effectively and have a positive impact on the community, including in the education sector,” said Hera F. Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA.
GASING (Gampang, Asyik, dan Menyenangkan) is a math method developed by Prof. Yohanes Surya, Ph.D. This method emphasizes the teaching-learning process through various interactive activities such as games, songs, and collaboration between students and teachers. Through a warm and enjoyable learning environment, children are expected to rediscover their enthusiasm for learning, feel comfortable in the school setting, and regain confidence in their daily activities.
Dozens of students and teachers who have been participating in the GASING training in Aceh Tamiang since early April are from Kualasimpang Public Elementary School 1, Kualasimpang Public Elementary School 2, Kualasimpang Public Elementary School 4, and Kota Lintang Public Elementary School. In addition to Aceh Tamiang, Bakti BCA has frequently collaborated to conduct math training using the GASING method in various regions, such as West Manggarai Regency, NTT; Pasuruan Regency, East Java; and South Central Timor Regency, NTT.
In addition to GASING-style math training, Bakti BCA, through its Bakti Pendidikan pillar, also runs a number of other programs and activities. Some of Bakti BCA’s tangible contributions in the field of education include:
- Awarding BCA Bakti Scholarships to 8,500 students by
- Implementing the Business & Banking Education Program (PPBP) and the Information Technology Education Program (PPTI).
- Providing internship opportunities for high school, vocational school, and college graduates through the BCA Bakti Internship Program, which will have more than 5,200 participants by 2025.
- Hosting the BCA Knowledge Sharing Program, which has been attended by more than 16,000 participants by the end of 2025.
- Developing a total of 32 BCA Bakti Schools in Bengkulu, East Kalimantan, NTT, West Papua, Lampung, Banten, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, and East Java by the end of
- Organizing a disability empowerment program, one of which was attended by 15 friends with disabilities (deaf friends) who went on to earn professional certifications.
- Conducting financial literacy education at various events, with a total of over 169,000 participants by the end of 2025.
Specifically in the Aceh Tamiang region, Bakti BCA previously distributed various forms of humanitarian aid following a disaster in the area. Aid was also distributed in several regions across Sumatra, including Solok, South Tapanuli, as well as Medan and Langkat. The support provided included rice, bottled water, food, blankets, tents, and clothing for children and adults. Additionally, Bakti BCA assisted in the construction of boreholes, 5,000-liter water tanks, and sanitation facilities (bathrooms, washing areas, and toilets) for affected communities.
