Joining Earth Hour 2026, BCA Supports Environmental Conservation and Energy Efficiency Efforts

Jakarta, 27 March 2026 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) once again supports the Earth Hour 2026 program as part of a global campaign addressing climate change. Amid ongoing geopolitical conditions that also impact the energy sector, BCA is leveraging this momentum to further promote energy efficiency across its operations.

In commemoration of Earth Hour 2026, BCA will switch off non-essential lights and electronic equipment on Saturday (28/3) at its operational buildings and branch offices across Indonesia, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM local time. Despite the temporary shutdown during Earth Hour, BCA ensures that banking services and ATM networks will continue to operate normally to meet customers’ transaction needs.

Since 2019, BCA has consistently participated in Earth Hour and has recorded electricity savings from the participation of its operational buildings during the campaign. During Earth Hour 2025, a total of 962 BCA offices took part by turning off electricity for one hour.

BCA’s contribution to supporting Earth Hour is part of its broader efforts to improve energy efficiency throughout the year. This is reflected in the company’s electricity intensity, which has consistently declined to 131 kWh/m² in 2025.

EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility BCA, Hera F. Haryn, stated that BCA’s involvement in Earth Hour reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) values. She noted that this simple action carries a powerful message in raising awareness about the need for serious action to address global climate change through energy-saving initiatives.

“BCA’s participation in Earth Hour is not merely an annual activity, but a concrete step in supporting energy resilience and anticipating climate change. We hope this contribution will inspire more parties to take part and foster a shared awareness to protect our planet,” said Hera.

Hera added that BCA is also actively encouraging its employees and customers to participate in this movement through social media activations using the hashtags #IniAksiku and #SatuJamUntukBumi.

“BCA also aims to encourage individuals, communities, and customers to be part of the change toward a sustainable future. The simple act of turning off lights and electronic devices for just one hour, when done collectively, can have a significant impact on environmental improvement,” Hera concluded.
