Tangerang, 5 February 2026 — Muhammad Abdurrahman Azzam never imagined that his college years would hold so much meaning for his life. As a student of IPB University, he feels proud and happy to be part of efforts to drive the local community’s economy.
Azzam’s real contribution to society came thanks to the Bakti BCA Scholarship program. This young man from Depok became one of the scholarship recipients as well as a Bakti Champions Ambassador 2025. Bakti Champions is the term used for students who receive the Bakti BCA Scholarship. Through this scholarship program, he took part in the development program of a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) in Bogor.
“As one of the Bakti Champions, I have gained many opportunities to join self-development programs as well as socializing experiences. Through this program, I was also able to build networks with friends from universities spread from Sumatra to Papua,” Azzam said as he shared his story in a podcast program at the mini studio of BCA Expoversary 2026 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Banten, on Thursday (5/2).
Azzam is one of 700 recipients of the Bakti BCA Scholarship program 2025. For Azzam, this scholarship not only provides financial support in the form of pocket money and educational assistance. More than that, the fifth-semester student of the Communication Science and Community Development (SKPM) Study Program, Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA), admits that he gained life skills to build a career after graduating.
During his time as a Bakti Champion, Azzam said he received self-development programs such as leadership and character training (Transformational Workshop). There were also introductions to the professional world through Company Visits and e-learning materials on financial management, as well as project management for social contribution programs directly impacting communities.
All the training materials and programs from the Bakti BCA Scholarship were then applied by Azzam into real actions. Regarding his support for local MSMEs, Azzam assisted one of the MSME owners in the culinary field, from organizational management, graphic design, to content creation on social media. The materials he used were those he gained from the briefings as a Bakti Champion.
“During the Bakti BCA program, my fellow Bakti Champions and I received tools in marketing and organizational management through engaging workshops and webinars with competent speakers. In running the mentoring program for one of the MSMEs in Bogor, I used those tools so the program could be sustainable. Until now, the tools we provided are still being used. It has been proven that not only Bakti Champions gain benefits, but also the communities who collaborate with Bakti Champions,” Azzam said.
Meanwhile, BCA’s EVP Corporate Communications & Social Responsibility, Hera F. Haryn, said that the Bakti BCA Scholarship program is designed as an effort to strengthen student capacity before entering the workforce. The program, she explained, is designed to nurture Bakti Champions through soft skills training, mentoring, and alumni networking to prepare them for future careers.
“BCA’s commitment through this program is to create sustainable impact for education and to develop high-quality young talents as the future pillars of the nation,” said Hera.
